After seeing the high scores, I have decided not even try any further. I bow to your skills. Simply amazing and kind of scary :P.
I couldn't seem to get any higher than 980 points. And I took one day off and EVERYONE did 1000+. I agree...I bow to everyone's skills! How are we supposed to keep hitting the head that moves to fast to hit?? lol

hmmmm, there is a repeating pattern. everytime you bounce the head, you can predict where it will return... even though I can predict it I can't keep up with it when the head moves reaall quick.... hahahaha... I't's like; whaaaa! ; ) ....sigh, me and my bad eye-hand coordination ; )

Well, there isn't really a "pattern" per se (hehe and I coded this one from scratch so I know how it works :P). The ball bounces at angles of 45 degrees, until it reaches level 9 then it just goes random. ;P
I tried to make it so that it was close to impossible to get higher than 1000 points. And the highest I ever got was 1120 lol, which was by fluke too cuz I never could get that score again. XD
As for the 4880 score... let's just say it's not humanly possible to get something that high. ;D Still though, 1180, 1160 are pretty admirable scores! <3
As for Holeman, that Adam dude's incredible! He should post around here sometime. Level 20? Almost 39,000 points?? :o Good job! !!!

Sorry about that dude, I had to remove ya. Your e-mail bounced back so there was no way of contacting you. You can't login to the forums to check private messages either if you don't register with a valid e-mail. Not to mention, I had no idea if you even realised the e-mail address u typed was invalid, so the only way to get you to re-register was to remove both your account and score. :-\

Thanks alot. Yonkey was wrong when he said there is no pattern when it reaches 9 because there is. It is a very big and nice pattern. It took me a long time to recognize it. I actually abandoned the pattern. I didn't want my score to be too high.

to be honest, to reach + 2000 points in pong is certainly something that you had to find a pattern, but its alright, next month things will get more complicated, Im bringing the heavy material ;P and the requirements to achieve prizes will be a bit more difficult to get ;P

In the shortest possible explanation, when you get to 900, center three times, down, bottom for a while, quickly up to top

Anyway, I tried the same pattern on the newer version, and even remembering the spot where the ball went last, but the bug is completely gone (no more silly hyper pattern). It will truly require skill to get the highest score now. :suffer:

ya 900 points is key...otherwise your bug hunting hopes are completely shot down...it's just a simple law of physics...the faster a Conner head travels -> the straighter he becomes *zounds t'is beyond my bounce*

regarding whats going on now with the flash games:
1.- prizes are still going on, but the bigger and better prizes will go to sneaky geanie and hexxawand
2.- kqpong and holeman are still available and improved, these both will compete for a different set of surprises for this month, but anyways the status is mantained best highscores = better prizes.
3.- on the status of sneaky geanie 3 levels get to compete among themselves, the better the highscores the better prizes they get, in any case there may be 3 winners one on each level, as for hexxawand this is a though one, amaze us all with your brain skills, same goes better highschores better surprises.
Anyhow, without anything else to add at the moment, please enjoy the games, thanks to Storm and Jason for their nice help when they got asked even though they had no idea what it was for :P lol, go play them now you have 4 games to compete for the monthly highscores, I will keep in mind the cool prizes for them all :)

Snake was the first game we added music too. I chose the music for that one because I personally found the song very fitting! XD Also, my sister kept playing it in our apartment last summer, so I was really addicted to it at the time. :P
Say helped me pick out the music for KQPong and Hexxawand, which we added a few days ago by choosing from a range of songs. We felt that some of the lyrics sung, matched with some game concepts.
Oh and if you guys ever get to 1000 points in KQPong, that's from the song Say was singing in the KQIX Asylum the other day. ;D You might even recognize it from an iPod commercial. :P

I've always sucked at this kind of games. I had a similar game on my cellphone and could never beat it unless it was on the lowest level, where even choosing your steps at random could result in victory :P

Yup, believe it or not, creating these games was one of the first assignments I had when I joined the KQ9 Team. :D
But I can't take all the credit! Say also worked on designing these games! We also had a few people in the team test it out and offer several suggestions. ;D

I have no idea why the games would stop working for you Racx. If they stopped in the middle of gameplay (and not downloading) then something happened with your computer.
I also just noticed last night that Holeman wasn't recording the level people got to. I apologize for that and it is now fixed. For the contest, we only look at the highest score anyway so it's no big deal. But, if any Holeman high scorer wishes me to remove their entry (I can't edit them, only remove them completely) send me a PM. ;D
With sneaky genie will there be different prizes for different levels of difficulty ???
BTW i sent in my score and then it wasnt showing scores so i exit it and then it wouldnt load :-\, i got it to work eventually though ;D

Anyhoo. I can say that a fairly consistent strategy for winning is to just try your best to keep her boxed in... keep surrounding her as much as possible, and force her to make jumps and leave holes, while you move side-to-side as much as possible. Also, try to look carefully and make sure that you gain more spaces with each move than she can gain with any possible reaction to your move.
As for a strategy for eliminating her completely... still working on that one. :P

Heh, I didn't notice, but I forgot to replace the KQPong logo after you unpause, so the games go from level to level much quicker (the ball doesn't have that lag delay in screen update between levels) meaning it's actually
harder if you pause the game rather than never pausing it. ;)
As for how to do well in the bonus round: "cutie, cutie, make sure you move your booty"! ;P

I just went through all the high score lists and removed all the invalid names (ones not registered in the forum). This means the people such as: HighScore!, Pwincess, etc have been removed and have opened several spots on the high score boards in KQPong and Sneaky Genie. XD
It's a shame for those people, but the rules were very clear and repeated 5 times on the same page, as well as in the first post of this thread. ::)

Holeman I can't get anywhere near those scores. The closest I got was still almost 1000 off the lowest score. ::)

Holeman: Getting those 4000 scores involve eating all 4 'ghosts' when getting a magic pellet (you HAVE to get max points on the first two levels cuz there is no way to get past the 3rd)
Sneaky Genie: ummm... Yeah... Doing good.
Hexxawand: I dunno, I managed to get 46 pts once... but thats it. I can now win consistantly... but never well :(

I did that round of Sneaky all in one big long burst... but you could do a little bit every so often, then pause, and continue a little later. Maybe do 30 pts every so often.

you can click 'about' to see how you can play hexawand, it explains that there a re two types of moves... you just click on your piece and it shows where you can move to... if you move next to a piece of rosella it becomes yours... you get bonus if you capture 5 or more at once
you can play the games offline, but you ahve to be connected to upload the highscores.

Actually I believe I said it previously, that there are no going to be combo prizes so its probably just an art or a screenshot from now on, it all depends on how good the highscores are, because the big prizes that contain art + spoiler + something else are obviously too big to be giving away for free, as a PR director I understand the important factor of be giving out spoilers, as well as to give out such thing as top news exclusive preview or memberships or anything such as related. So eventually you will have to wait till our next production if you DONT want to miss these prizes, the contest are still going on but with normal prizes, not big combos.

:) About the extra life thingie, when you get to 1000 points with three lives, an extra life must be added. If you lose a life before you get 1000 points, then you must continue with whatever life you have.
??? Is there way to lock the mouse pointer on the moving thingie so that i can play better. My mouse poiner keeps leaving the screan, then i lose lives at 400 points.

I decided against showing the mouse cursor in the game because it makes it less intuitive that the cursor itself does nothing. For example, clicking on Connor or on anything on the board does nothing.
I don't like the idea of locking the mouse movement to only up and down either. The hardest part in Pong is controlling the paddle movement; you need to control the mouse in the game in order to do well. ;P

Actually, I'm pretty sure that one was me... Highest score I've ever gotten was an 83, but I managed to mess up submitting that one altogether (not that it really matters ;) ).

That's what I was talking about as well. Basically, if you got the top score, and submitted it as "Cesar Bittar". Then we close the contest and say "Congratulations Cesar Bittar, you are the winner, here is your prize". You would come up and say "Hey! He didn't win it, it was me submitting as his name!! I want the prize". Or even worse, Cesar Bittar is colluding with you for the prize and he says "Ok, since you're the
real winner of the prize, I'll show it to you".
We don't want any situation like that to occur, so only submit your
own name for high scores and no one else's.
By the way, I just used "Cesar Bittar" in place of any user, the actual Cesar already knows what prizes we send out to the winners. ;P

I've played Tetris over the internet, maybe I can find a Windows port. Since it's open-source(the maker doesn't care if you edit it), it wouldn't be hard to replace the graphics.

I noticed something interesting... When someone tries to type in their name for a highscore to snakey, if the name begins with any letter except 'n', its in CAPS. Starting with 'n' causes the 'n' and all the following letters to be lowercase... Out of pure curiousity, why is this true? ???

I have no idea. 'n' isn't even used for anything in that game. The real font that supposed to show up looks both the same in uppercase and lowercase, so don't worry too much about it. :P
I have finished eliminating all traces of that 'none' guy from all levels of Snakey... Yall can thank me with money and an endless supply of hersheys kisses. ;D

It gets annoying sometimes...especially if you have to go to class. But I guess that's what the "pause" is for. To let you go and take a break so that you don't go completely insane while you're playing!
Why do you think I prefer Python mode? A reasonably high score for that game takes 'merely' a half hour. :P
it's just that my breaks are only half an hur or so, so there is no way I can play sneaky to the end (if I ever make it that far ; \)

When we get to 800 points, (KQ8) let the head switch between Lucreto and Connor like you are switching the heads mad at 900 points.
Then at 900 points, make the heads go mad with Graham, Alexander and Rosella. It's a bit dumb to let the heads go mad from the previous villains who won't even be in KQ9.
When we get to 1000 points, put Ceaser's head there with the three main characters from KQ9.

Anyway why am I so high on the high score lists all of a sudden? I was playing a few days ago and I was first in viper on sneaky genie but the guy who was in second is now off the list, now koko is the one behind me (although not in second ;D).
Going along with this now on KQPong I am first (!) but before I was second, and the guy who used to be first isn't there anymore, and I have the score he used to have.

Awww man, I have a pretty good story. So I went on AOL to check my mail and I had an email whose header read "Congratulations from KQIX!" So I got like this huge lump of anticipation in my throat as I open it, anxious for the good news that Cuatokomacen would be chosen to be in the game...
But it was only a notification of the prize I got for winning something on the Flash Games. :-\ What did I win for exactly? I had the high score on KQ Pong for a while but not anymore. I guess it was because I sent in the secret word (BTW Yonkey feel free to edit that out if I wasn't allowed to reveal the secret word contest :)).
However the prize was awesome so it wasn't too much of a downer.
If you discover the secret word, you get the prize. 8)

You obtain the prize by reaching a certain score, or certain amount of bonus moves in Hexxawand. Brrr is a human, so it is possible to beat him. ;P
