Or how about not getting the feather in KQ4 before getting swallowed by the whale?
That, and the Bridle is HIDDEN on teh freaking island...how the hell did it end up there, and how are we suupsoed to know to LOOK there? Also, if you didn't have the fish there, you were screwed.
Oh the island all the way! I hated that. Looking for the bridle, need a fish for the dolphin...I think lacking a fish was why I got stuck there the first time around. Several years later, with the help of some online sites, I was finally able to get off the island when I bought the KQ collection.
What else, hmm....dunno right now. But that was a pain!
Yeah, beating KQ4 without a walkthrough would be almost impossible. How the hell are you supposed to know that you can get swallowed by a whale, or the bridle is even in the ocean in the first place?
In KQ2 (the original version) it's pretty much impossible to get the maximum amount of points without a guide, too. I mean, how the hell are you supposed to know to throw a bridle at a snake?
Dunno, but that's max points. KQ4 you can't even advance without doing any of that stuff.
The KQ series can be annoying because of its dead ends :(, and thats why i used to get frustrated and stop playing them for weeks ;D
[shadow=blue,left,up]Welcome
to the forum,
The Fat Emu!! ;D[/shadow]
I can't remember any dead-ends right now... probably because of my extensive use of walkthroughs :P
Thanks for the enthusiastic "Welcome". And I'd like to say "Hello" to everybody here.
Hiya Emu, and welcome!!! Glad to have you here. ;D
Man, what is it with KQ and crazy weird bridle-related plot points that are impossible to figure out??
I killed the lion the first time instead of feeding him the ham in KQ2. Didn't even think ham was an option. I had it, mind you. Just didn't think of it.
I think the finding the KQ4 bridle was the kind of puzzles they put in games so you'd have to call their hintline or buy the hintbook :P I know I wouldn't have figured that out in a million years. You write "look ground" - and get nothing. You write "look boat" - and get nothing. Only when you write "look ground" while standing IN the boat - you find it. Silly me, thinking that "look ground" should cover ALL the ground ;P
Was there a birdle riddle in KQ2? I must have missed that one... or my memory is playing tricks on me again. The original KQ2 is the one I remember the least :-\
...Also KQ4's "look under bridge" for the golden ball. Not a dead-end, I know, but I played the AGI version, and wouldn't have suspected in a million years that little yellow spot was anything but a random pixel ;P
backwards rumplestilstken was pretty tough
But not a dead-end - you could still finish the game without it 8)
Well yeah, I guess. :)
Now, Forgetting to get the mushroom (or eating it ahead of time) - THAT was a very annoying KQ1 dead-end :-\
Oh yeah, that is another really bad dead end. I've found that if I complete a "big goal" type deal, I save under two names so I don't have to completely start over.
