Thoughts? Guesses? Analysis? Predictions? Who's everyone? :)
Very Impressive, i do see you guys got the Face Animation right, because in the Old Trailer on Youtube, Queen Valanice and Prince Alexander Both Scream while it looks like they are Laughing hysterically XD
I have No Criticism or Complaints, the Trailer is AWSOME. ;D ;D ;D
The main thing I noticed is that Alexander's eyes were kinda creepy. :P
Incredible work, guys! I love it!

Yeah, and I still don't like his spikey Anime hair cut.
My hair's like that naturally -- don't make fun! :P
Maybe it goes with the name, Graham. :P
I agree, the player models looked a bit funny, but who cares? A solid game delivers not in beauty but in thrill, adventure and fun.
Also, I liked the rehashing of the menu theme for the trailer. I've probably watched it about 10 times by now.
Anyone else notice the "Dramatic Chipmunk" shot of Valanice at :50 into the trailer?
I just scoured YouTube for the old trailer for the game, and I watched it three times. Then I watched the new trailer twice, and I'm sitting here with puffy red eyes and shaking hands from crying so much with happiness. I know I've said this, like, a billion times already, but I am so incredibly proud and excited for what's going on here! The trailer--both of them, really--is AMAZING, and I'm so thrilled to see all of this happening for real. <3
I noticed in the new trailer that Graham is falling down several deep abysses. I know that the royal family of Daventry isn't known for their gracefulness (Alexander's dramatic entrance into Daventry when he rolls down the hill, Rosella's constant trips and falls in KQ IV, Alexander's "Ow! Hey!" moments while climbing the cliffs of logic), but those particular black holes seemed a little more dramatic to me. Hmmmm.
Also, the three fates appear to be watching near the very beginning. You only see them for a minute before it zooms back out, but there is definitely a set of weird old biddies watching. Can't wait to see what a 3-D Etheria looks like, it was always my favorite KQ location!
Perhaps Cassima didn't like Alexander's haircut?
I happen to like Alex's hair style. It has a modern flair to it that is refreshing.
I don't mind it either. So used to it now I can't imagine him any other way.

Except that we're talking about Alexander's hair... otherwise, that'd be an excellent theory! :P

Well, Alex is Graham's son. It happens. *Shrug*
I find myself watching the trailer about once every hour...
Shadarack is the most interesting character to me at the moment since we know almost nothing about him other than the fact that he is a really powerful dark wizard. I always get upset when I see a movie in which the good guys or single protagonist kicks the crap out of the bad guy/s. I want it to be an epic struggle when the characters battle!
Agreed. Shadrack is great material for TSL. He's evil, shadowy, powerful, and extremely mysterious. The idea that he unites all of the King's Quest games is so poetic and perfect; I just can't wait to see how TSL explores him.
Think of the possibilities...!
Figure 1. Shadrack.
Well, we do know that he played chess with Mordack... not that it helps at all, but hey, it's something.
Right...Sort of reminds me of the relationship between Magneto and Professor Xavier in X-Men.
Except in this case they're both evil. :P
Don't say evil, they are just misunderstood.
Yeah, I was think more along the lines of two powerful old guys who have tremendous powers yet sit together to play chess.
For all we know, he could have been the nefarious wizard from King's Quest 1 though I am not sure about that one.

Kind of like Xavier and Magneto in X-Men?
Edit: oops - apparently that's where this came from. :P

Yes, I can see it now. "I am the most evil wizard in all the lands, so I'm going to paralyze you."
The wizard from the second one would be
slightly more likely in that he turns you into a frog.
But I really doubt that we've actually seen Shadrack before.

No, nothing at all like that, why do you ask? :P XD

And anyway, those aren't wizards, they're enchanters. ;)
I know, I know, semantics, I'm just messing.

Or... were they sorcerers?
Oh well, I'm sure the game takes all three of them.
Of course, KQ2 also lets you refer to any of the girls by any of the girls' names... as in, you can call Valanice Hagatha or Grandma and it still works. Yeah, it's kind of freaky.
No, no, no!
One of them was a sorcerer and the other an enchanter. Neither was wizards.
Gawsh, it's like you guys don't even know the difference. Haven't you met any spellcasters? Lordy! :P

Actually, the sorcerer/enchanter thing is what thought it was... so one of them enchants and the other... sorcers?
Exactly!
Will there be Another Trailor in the Weekend, since it was kinda silly in a way to Open a New Site/Board and release the Trailer at the Same time. :P
The Trailer should've been Released in this Weekend and then the Game Part 1 Next Weekend. :suffer:
What are we gonna do/get this weekend. :D

Y'know, when I first got here, I didn't really understand what the big deal was about the :suffer: icon. It didn't seem clear to me why everyone hated it.
I get it now.
The guy in KQ1 is referred to as the 'Sorcerer'. The guy in KQ2 is the 'Enchanter', or the 'Evil Enchanter'.
http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/The_Sorcerer
He's apparently intended to be the same sorcercer that stole the Magic Mirror and hid it with the Dragon.
http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/Evil_Enchanter
He was a member of the Magician's guild. Graham thought he might have been the same Sorcerer he ran into in Daventry, see above. But he wasn't sure.
http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/Magician%27s_Guild
Manannan was also a member of said guild.
Yeah, that's what I thought it was, Baggins.
QuoteOf course, KQ2 also lets you refer to any of the girls by any of the girls' names... as in, you can call Valanice Hagatha or Grandma and it still works. Yeah, it's kind of freaky.
Nah, that's not freaky...
What's really freaky is you refer to any of the girls as "sl**", "wh***", "b*tch", "c*nt", "hose bag", and the game will reply (I mean literally spelling them out, not versions this site censors).
If you are really freaky you can refer to them as as "sp**m burping gutter sl**".

Ya, Al Lowe must have had alot of time on his hands :p...
Gah! That's so dirty! I feel like I need to shower after reading that.
I discovered it while looking through the files with an AGI editor program. Its bizarre. I don't understand how Roberta let it through. There are somethings that don't belong in the parser.
It's the darkside of KQ (long before Royal Quest :p).
QFG1 had a rather elaborate parser as well, with a number of words that would lead to random cuss warning messages. For example, you can type, "urinate" or "deficate", and you'll get a funny comment. These are the cleanest ones. "dump", "crap" also count. So you type, "take a dump", you'll get the warning messages.
Hey, have you ever tried typing in "kiss Hagatha" (or any other default female name in her cave, I suppose)?
That would be an interesting easter egg for the Omnipedia.
ya what was it, Smack, Whoopee, Cough, Gross, or some such.
Ya, I think that easter egg is already listed.
Ah, yes. It's on Hagatha's page.
Hmm, and cuss words also work in KQ4, bringing up an easter egg about Leisure Suit Larry. They semi function in KQ1 SCI, but just shut down the parser, with no messages at all.
In KQ3, I think a few choice cuss words, gives you a comment like, "You were obviously raised by a naughty wizard".
In the original KQ1 cuss words were not in the parser, you just get the generic message, like "The system doesn't know what you are trying to say", which appears for any word not in the parser.

Yup. Found out about that one by fat-fingering something and found it quite hilarious (once I found out what LSL was).
I get the impression that there are going to be some pretty hilarious easter eggs in TSL. Cuatakomacen is a perfect example but thats just scratching the surface.
