Well the game's only been out for an hour and I'm already stuck :)
Just left the castle for the first time and can't seem to get anywhere. All the businesses are closed except the ferry who refuses to take me anywhere. How do I progress the story?
Go back and start checking every area... you need to prove to Hassan that you are who you claim to be and there is something that you pick up that will surely do the trick. :)
I know i know, um where did you get your Clothes again. ::)
There's an item you need to pick up on the balcony in King's room in the palace! ;)

I'm one of the confused ones. It won't let me into the Graham's room. What item do I need togive to Hasan. and where is it?

Are you sure you're trying to get into Graham's room? You should just have to click on it with the hand.
You're probably trying to go into the wrong room then. There are several rooms you can't go into, and one that he'll open the door and walk right in. It's clearly Graham's room from the clothing you can see as soon as you go in. First door on the right at the top of the stairs in the main hall I believe.
Gracious. That "something" was rather difficult to find if you didn't already know it was there, don't you think?
Oh heck that thing was EASY to find compared to some of the stuff in earlier King's Quest games. Not to mention stuff that could be game breaking if you didn't get it when you had the chance - shrinking mushroom FTW!!
And I spotted it the second I walked into that screen - first rule of every King's Quest game, click on everything that looks even a little bit odd.
I'm willing to bet you guys are still missing something... There's an area of the Green Isles that is as yet unexplored. And by that I mean it's a new environment for the game. And it's in chapter 1. Now see if you can find it... Granted, it holds no story significance. Yet... :suffer:

If there was proof that Graham is part of the Royal Family where would you think you can find such proof?

I would check all rooms again. It sounds like you haven't explored some areas yet.

Well, I can't find him, and every door outside the palace is closed. So no.
Walk south of the ferry ticket office.
There's nothing there but an empty dock.
You've walked all the way to the end of the dock and there's no boat or Hassan at all?
Nope. Even walked right off the end.
...incidentally, the currents haven't gotten any better since Alexander didn't try that.
There is no need for you to take the ferry yet. where will you go? perhaps you should explore the castle a bit more to find out some clues about what happend. by the time you have done that the ferry might have returned.

What would happen then? different cutscene? or same cutscene but the inconsistency of showing an item in it that you do not posses?
Could someone PM me the answer to the "proving Graham's identity" puzzle? I've checked his room and found the bag of gold coins already, but that isn't working. Is there something else that I'm missing? And if so, what?

Durr, I is for inventory. Should have figured that out earlier. Also, should not have misclicked and jumped off the end of the pier. >:(
ofcourse you should have! everyone should jump off the pier at least once.
You can also open your inventory by moving your mouse to the top of the screen and clicking on the bag that's on the menu there.
