Because you should be. My sister and I just played through Episode 1, and our jaws were on the ground. I can hardly sit still long enough to type this, so let me just say it in bullets, so that way I can go bouncing down my street in glee as soon as possible:
- The adventure style has not felt this sincere and crisp in over a decade.
- Your KQ-innovations (convo trees, panning screens instead of cutoffs) were inspired.
- The characters were among the most fleshed-out I've ever seen in a video game (H, L.A., and the CKs sound awesome, not to mention S giving me the willies).
- Related to above, the dialogue was sharp, and felt human.
- And, last but not least, the game looks GREAT!
I. Cannot. WAIT! For the remaining episodes! You have done the inconceivable - you took a franchise that was already great (after all, it wouldnt have been worth the attention otherwise!) and vaulted it to stratospheric new heights. It's no wonder Activision/Vivendi caved not once but TWICE and gave you the go-ahead. Talk about a labor of love!
I am actually, for real, starting to tear up a bit writing this, and I'm not exactly a heart-on-my-sleeve kind of guy either. =P I really hope that, maybe not today or tomorrow, busy as you all still are, but someday, you take a step back and look at the magnitude of your accomplishment. You deserve all the praise in the world!
