Title: Graham Model
Post by: daventry on July 12, 2010, 09:46:32 AM
Theres Another Game that i Love besides Kings Quest and that is Tomb Raider

Now theres a Site where we use Tons of Models to Pose and Make Incredible Screens.

People there are making Me a King Graham Model by using one of the Characters from the Tomb Raider Game.

Besides, they already made the Hat.

Theres a Program Called XNALara and you can get Characters/Objects/Scenes from Many Games and Pose them in any way you like.

So im just saying, that when they are Done with King Graham, i will post some Screens.

Still waiting for The King of Daventry
(http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7496/anemptyroomwithahat.jpg)

I guess we know what happened to Graham

I found some really old papers in the attic recently, one of which had my dad's mapping out of that desert from when the game originally came out (among some other notes for that game and Gabriel Knight) :P

Graham takes the Bucket of Water and throw it at the Fire Breathing Dragon.

The Beast is so Ashamed, that he Puffs up Smoke and moves the Boulder away and crawls through the hole to the outside.

Graham takes the Magic Mirror and walks out the way the Dragon went.

That looks pretty cool. Did you make that? Why does it look like there's fire at the end of the water but none coming from the dragon?
Title: Re: Graham Model
Post by: Enchantermon on March 03, 2011, 12:47:38 PM
I think the fireball was meant to have come from the dragon's mouth.

Its a Program that i use where People either make Scenes or Extract Models from Games, so then i put them together. ;)

Apparently its a Fireball coming from the Dragon as Graham is about to put it out with water.  :P

Graham watches as the Goat is ready to charge the Troll gaurding the Bridge. :D

Graham is now in the Clouds, just when his Invisibility Ring is wearing out, he sneaks up to the Sleeping Giant that was looking for him earlier, so now Graham is ready to take the Magic Chest that forever fills with Gold

With the Dark Forest behind him, Graham finds a Well and cut the rope with the Dagger to get the Bucket

No shame in that. I don't know how to sculpt in 3D. Tried it and failed miserably. The final result looked like a fat fertility doll that was a suffering anorexic.

In this case you can just add them in post. For example:

Making a model and placing it isn't very difficult at all.  It's creating the animations for the model and writing all of the code to make the game functional that would take the majority of the time.

Title: Re: Graham Model
Post by: fluxmaster on July 26, 2011, 10:56:46 AM
Are there any more besides the one's you've posted on this thread?

Would it be possible to take the scenes that you've made and arrange them such that you can press the arrow keys to move to the next scene in the same sequence as you would in KQ1?  That would be the first step in making a mini-game.  You could probably do that without raising any flags at Activision.

The next step would be to add a parser interface where, say, the player could type, "move rock," and a message would come up, "You move the rock and see a sword underneath."  Then the player could type, "take sword," and a message would come up, "You take the sword."  The player could then press the tab key and "Sword" would show up in his inventory.  In other words, it would have the same type of interface as the early adventure games such as the Wizard and the Princess (a.k.a. Adventure in Serenia).  That would be relatively easy to do, as the scenes would all be static, but it would still look like a hi-res 3-D game.  That would probably raise some flags at Activision, but if you kept quiet about it until it was finished, you might get away with it.

Actually, screens are all that you would need.  With AGS, you could link them together into a mini-game without using any programming at all.
Title: Re: Graham Model
Post by: TheMaestro on August 02, 2011, 11:35:16 AM
I have created a mini-game using your scenes from Kings Quest I. You can download it here:

http://www.filefactory.com/file/cda259c/n/KQ1-3D.zip

In the text box you can type in north, south, east, west, n, s, e, w to move to another scene. When you're in the scene with the sword under the rock, type "move rock" to move the rock, then type "take sword" to take the sword. Only lower-case letters may be used. Press the Tab key to check your inventory, and press Ctrl-Q to exit the game.

Daventry, if you would like to develop this further, let me know and I'll send you the source code and provide help if you need it. It's really easy to do; the mini-game only took me about an hour to create.
