So I was going through the text files for KQ1SCI remake, and came accross a line in the section relating to the cloud giand...
Basically it says that the shield protects you from being pulverized by the giant.
Is there any way to actually get the Condor to appear at some point before collecting the Chest of Gold so that you can actually reach the Land of the Clouds with the shield?
In the original version the condor was random, but I think the condor is tied to certain actions in the remake.
The condor will only show up if you already have the chest and the mirror.
However, if you cheat to get the shield early, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVUhK9u4Q80) you can see that it's still programmed to recognize the shield when you meet the giant and the dragon. (Though it might be possible to get the same results with the dragon by using the ring\protective spell to get the mirror, and then coming back when you have the shield.)
I guess it was a late change to keep the game from being too easy. Once you have the shield, the only thing you have to worry about is the dwarf.
Interesting. Doesn't the giant also reset once you collect the treasure chest? As in starts walking around the room, if you come back? So you could probably get up there with the shield as well, and get the same comment.
