Doctor:
What is it she does now? Look how she rubs her hands.
Gentlewoman:
It is an accustom'd action with her, to seem thus
washing her hands. I have known her continue in this a quarter of
an hour.
Lady Macbeth:
Yet here's a spot.
Doctor:
Hark, she speaks. I will set down what comes from her, to
satisfy my remembrance the more strongly.
Lady Macbeth:
Out, darn'd spot! out, I say! One; two: why, then
'tis time to do't.Hell is murky.Fie, my lord, fie, a soldier, and
afeard? What need we fear who knows it, when none can call our
pow'r to accompt?Yet who would have thought the old man to
have had so much blood in him?

Ask a stupid question, and you get a stupid answer. I'll have to admit though, that made me laugh.
Sexual Education ::)
Most of these sensationally funny Q&As aren't real, but nonetheless, I still feel a bit depressed when I read them.
A friend of mine worked at a Planned Parenthood and she told me that a boy came in asking for a pregnancy test -- apparently his boyfriend's condom had broken. She was like "Are you serious?" and, sadly, he was.
Anyways, back to word association....

Actually, I was thinking of when Peewee Herman did it. I can't remember the name of the movie, but he crashes a beach party, performs the song, and flies off.

I clicked on the link and thought the text was in German, and the first thing I thought of was "Manfred the Marmoset," a children's story a classmate of mine wrote for his German language class. I can't remember all of the details, but Manfred leaves his forest to explore the world and meets up with a famous soccer player to go on a quest for Nietzsche's mustache.

Mr. Benson has had two surgeries because he's got a bad heart. He even wrote a play (http://theater.nytimes.com/mem/theater/treview.html?res=9a07e0d61630f930a15750c0a9629c8b63) about it.

(I want a plural. A plural would look pretty. Weird, but pretty. Having it exist as only a contraction of "vois", the imperative singular of "voir" (to see) and "Là", there is strangely unsatisfactory. Verbs are meant to exist in more than just the second person singular imperative active. :()

voyélà?? don't think so... singular imperatives could be distributive "each of you, look there!"... maybe... actually, on a related note, HOW INFURIATING IS IT WHEN SOMEONE SAYS "viola" FOR "voilà"? :furious: :stabs:concierto

I had assumed that some people mis-re-learned it by typing it in and having spellcheck tell them "Voila doesn't exist: how about viola? That exists." :wall: So much fail. :(

I'm not sure if other people genuinely mis-re-learned it, but I do it to bother my half English-major sweetie. His peeves include mispronunciation, particularly with Old English (I pronounce thorns as 'y').

I was wondering whether or not that tradition was going to continue when I saw this hit 100...
I'm on it.
EDIT: This thread is now retired. So long old friend. We'll miss you.
Retired, yes, but locked? :D I claim this thread in the name of king and country! IT IS MINE NOW! :D
And now it's locked, so nobody (well, except mods and admins) can challenge Deloria's claim! :P
