A statement that vague isn't proof that anything is actually being done--or not being done, as the case may be. Forgive my cynicism, but I'll believe the results when I see them.
I don't know; I would take that as a sign that nothing is being done. That's pretty much how I would interpret "sleeping," anyway. Vague though it may be. Which is fine; that's pretty much what Katie said the last time she responded.
The recent news also throws more monkey wrenches into the works. Activision still owns the King's Quest IP, afaik, and soon Microsoft will. This whole IP licensing deal will probably have to be blessed by Microsoft when that goes through just like it had to be blessed by Vivendi when they bought Activision.

If it was an actual recent forum post, from someone like Katie, I'd be more inclined to believe it.  (Though that would be greatly overshadowed by my joy in knowing that she was still around.)  A supposed "quote" from "one of the directors" though, isn't enough to convince me.

The best I can give you for TSL is this, from one of the directors:
QuoteI'd say its more sleeping right now
But it ain't canceled yet
:)

Nice, but how long ago was that said?

But then, what do I know about keeping to a schedule or even what constitutes good writing, given that the Quest for Glory fanfic universe I've been at for the past decade keeps stalling with me wanting to write new drafts and I actually liked the Sequel Trilogy of Star Wars which is a crime against fandom?
FWIW, I really liked the Star Wars sequel trilogy, too. :)

I still remember how excited I was for TSL, when it first came out, just like Cognition.  Although, while I'd like to take comfort in knowing that Cognition was completed, the commentary promised that there would be a second season taking place in London.  And unfortunately, there's still yet to be any confirmation or denial of that either.  At this point, I wouldn't mind either answer - for TSL or Cognition.  I'd just like it if Katie or any of the other devs could let us know that they're still alive.  If, hopefully, they are indeed.

Perhaps now, but at the time it wasn't. Some games, sadly, don't age well. But, I for one am glad that it exists regardless. It may not ever be a finished project, but the fact that we fought for this game to be made for over a decade and won, that itself is a miracle. Yes, perhaps it might not be as good looking back on it now, but what did we have to compare it to? AGDI? IA? Those games are also flawed, have some questionable writing choices and voice acting, and I don't see any of those stories being completed either. TSL at the time was the best of the bunch, and while it's sad that it'll probably never be completed and that is a disappointment, I at least can look at more fondly than most other fanmade projects, even today.

I personally can't recommend TSL at this point. It's a mess of poor storytelling, glitches, dated graphics, amateurish acting, obtuse puzzles, and, of course, its cliffhanger ending that will never be resolved, with its (very good) soundtrack being its only truly redeeming trait.

I think that chapter 4 ends in such a way that it gives somewhat of a conclusion. Also, I love what they did with the world and think that it is worth playing. That being said, since there is no chapter 5, you might be disappointed as we all are that you won't get to see the story finished.
