I have two systems with completely up to date drivers and they both exhibit poor results running The Silver Lining. Both run Windows XP Pro fully updated.

Anyone else have these same issues and does anyone know the official SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS for this game?

Athlon XP 2500, 1.5gb RAM, 256mb Nvidia 6600TD, onboard soundmax audio

Game runs very choppy on videos.

Dell 620D notebook - Core2Centrino, 1gb RAM, onboard 945GM video, onboard audio

Game videos run smoothly but constant clipping sound from sound card. Latest driver did not remove sound issue.

I assume my processor is not enough on the desktop system since the notebook can handle it but I've played many games sufficiently on this desktop including the newer D&D Online so I was very surprised video was slow as video is usually the easiest to run. There must be a lack of GL optimization in the code, is that correct?

Thanks to anyone with a similar system who can confirm results.

What version of Windows are you running on those computers?

I noticed the missing info after posting and immediately updated my post.

Both systems are running Windows XP Pro fully updated.

I'd be happy to debug performance issues. Just tell me what needs to be done. I am very fluent with computers.

I should mention I've dropped the resolution to 800x600 and unchecked every single feature box. Still very very choppy, we're talking 1 fps when in the castle or zooming through a garden or zooming down to the island. 1 fps continues until the end of the video and only improving when 1 single characters face is onscreen, but I suspect the rain is a definite culprit for slow down as blinking eyes stutter/chop during that decent 15 fps moment.

Let me know what further detail you need.

Have you tried updating your OpenAL drivers?

Neither system has Creative Labs hardware in it, but I installed OpenAL anyway. No change whatsoever.

On your desktop is it only during the opening cinematic that the game gets choppy or does this happen at other times during the game itself?

On the notebook is the sound always clippy or just during cinematics?

Have you tried installing Omega drivers on either of these systems?
