No offense, Jeysie, but that seems to be your solution to every IE/NS-related problem

Bushie - my problem is not that I can't see the files. I can see them all too well. But when I delete them, it only PRETENDS to do so! the folders look empty, but when I open the forum, I can still see some of the smilies yellow!!  
Not to mention deleting them from the browser window doesn't do ANYTHING at all

And the above is still true after I edited the desktop.ini files... Sorry

Hmmm... so you can get inside the Content.IE5 folder and everything? Windows keeps two caches, a public one and a private one...

Maybe there's yet another place where the cache is being stored?

On my computer, there's more than one Temporary Internet Folder.  But usually if I just go to the Internet Options and Delete Files (sometimes even close the browser complete and re-open).  That usually does the trick.  

Also, I have my settings set to Check for newer versions of stored pages: Automatically.

Who's offended? I figure, why bother trying to fix IE when you can use browsers that aren't broken? (Or at the very least, are nowhere near as broken as IE. )
