Yes, you should rent the first one before seeing the second.

There's a couple of things that just wouldn't make a whole lotta sense without seeing the first.  (You can see it stand alone and still enjoy it, but you'd miss out some references and such.)

And yes, Kirsten Dunst is a superbabe.  My biggest complaint with Kirsten Dunst (and this is a very serious infraciton of living a good life) is that she's not dating me. :D  Hopefully someday she'll come to her senses and become my Sugar Momma. :D

Saw Spidy 2 again tonight!  Still as good as the first time! (I KNOW I said that elsewhere!).  Neil, my favorite scene is STILL that one I mentioned before...the crowd and the two kids :P!

Aaaahh! A thread of importance, I have stumbled upon(read in Yoda voice)

In talking about movies I first must say that whatever praise I bring to any movie will never be above that that I would be prepared to extend to the LotR series. Those will always rock my world.

Now, Spidey is my fav in the comic movie world, although Zorro was good and, against the stream, Hulk was enjoyable as well. In fact I even enjoyed Superman at the time and especially Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor. Batman deteriorated, as many has already noted, with time, while X-men, IMHO, is overrated from the get-go.

Saw Chronicles of Riddick and it really wasn't all that great, so I saw The Terminal right after and that was a great movie. Not so much a chick flick as I first thought it would be, although I really enjoy the so-called "chick-flicks", for the most part.

Spiderman 2's probably the best movie I've seen this year.

I'm still waiting for a couple others this month like:

- The Bourne Supremacy
- Catwoman
- I, Robot
- The Village
- Collateral
- The Manchurian Candidate

I'm not sure if I'm gonna see all of them, but hopefully most.  ;D

Yeah Yonkey! You have good taste in movies.

The Manchurian Candidate
The Bourne Supremacy
I, Robot

are all movies I'm waiting very patiently to see*angelic face with a impatient heart*

Denzel is one of my favorite actors. If he is in it it is almost assuredly a great movie. Same with Morgan Freeman and Tom Hanks.

I'm kind of leery about I, Robot, since they've out-and-out said it's not based on any of the short stories. Plus I thought Harlan Ellison's Illustrated Screenplay version kicked butt. Besides, it just wouldn't be the same without Powell and Donovan in there *somewhere*. ;D

And I thought the X-Men movies also kicked butt.

Peace & Luv, Liz

Mary Jane

I saw Anchorman a few days ago. I think its the funniest movie I've seen all year!
BTW, what happens halfway through the credits of Shrek 2? I saw the movie twice but I didn't stay for the credits for very long.
She's back. She's proud. She will overcome!

How could you not stay long enough after all we've told you!?!? :P

I'm waiting around for I, Robot also...not exactly my type of movie but it actually looks interesting.  Still wanting to see Princess Diaries 2.  I'm sure there are more that I'm waiting for, but I can't remember them! :P

BTW, I love both the X-Men movies!!

Movies looking forward to:

See Neil's list, minus the crapfest known as Catwoman. (Not that you care, Neil, but I will not hold the fact that you want to see that movie against you. :))

Saw both Butterfly Effect and Secret Window.  Neither were great, neither sucked.

Both get 3.5 <3's out of 5.

Haven't seen Butterfly effect, mostly because of Ashton Kuchter(SP?), the non-actor. The concept is interesting though, although I have seen movies with good concepts of time travel and that category before and very few are really well thuoght thruogh and hold up in the long run. This one I don't know if it will or not, you tell me

I saw Shrek2 recently in theaters. I also rented Mooseport, a movie with Ray Romano as a small town plumber in Maine who runs for the mayor against the former president of the US. (The name of the town is Mooseport.) Also rented Mona Lisa Smile, very good movie. I saw Stepford wives at the theater, it was good, funny and had a point about not making people like robots, people have flaws in them but that is what makes them human. I saw Rotk. I wanna see HP3 and the Notebook.
