I really enjoyed Signs, as well as Unbreakable by M. Night Shamalyananananandyadgmdsg  or however you spell his name.  Sixth Sense was good, too...but not really something you can entirely watch over and over.  (at least not me)

I did really like "What Lies Beneath" with Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford.

"The Ring" was creepy, too. <3

Yeah, "What lies beneath" is a really good one too, but "The Ring" was really freaky  and although is was intriguing and had a a lot of suspense, it just left me with a yucky feeling, and I don't like that.

I really like the runaway movies too, like "The Fugitive" etc. Those are really good too.

I never saw "The Ring" but I <3 "What Lies Beneath".  :)

I saw The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs.  I found The Sixth Sense to be the best of the three.  Has anyone seen or is planning to see The Village?

I don't know.  It's playing at our downtown theater...but it doesn't have the best reviews.  But again...I don't really care for scary movies...*shrugs*

Not sure if M. Night Smahgalkjdslksg;lkads   has always gotten the best reviews.  Plus there's probably unusually high expectations as a result of the earlier movies.

I have every intention of seeing it.  I just need someone to see it with.  To hold me during hte scary parts.

Sorry...then it won't be me.  I'd be the one hiding my face through the majority of the film :P

Awwwh...

Any takers for someone to hold me during the scary parts of a movie while I cry like a widdle baby?

I probably wouldn't hold you... but if we go when there's not many people around to get offended, I can poke fun at the movie MST3K-style and make you laugh so much you'll forget you're scared! :D

Well, it's okay to talk at home, but not at the theatre.

I despite talking at the theatre and people who can't seem to stop kicking my seat from behind.  One or twice is an honest mistake, but perpetually is very aggrivating.

Which is why I said I'd only do it if the theater was empty or mostly empty. I don't talk when there's lots of people around, I'm not a jerk. :P

Making fun of movies at home is the best part, though. Even if we like the movie, Harrison and I can't resist making some jabs. Once you're an MSTer, you're forever corrupted!

As much as I enjoy MST3K, I still don't like making fun of good movies as we're watching them.

Mind you, if they're old campy movies, we (a group of friends and I) would often do the hecking thing.  Even at theatres.

There was an older theatre in Halifax called Wormwoods (since closed) and they had midnight showings.  Anyway, one night they showed the original "War of the Worlds".  Well, every time Dr. Forrester was mentioned, we had to chant:

"FORRESTER! FORRESTER!  DOCTOR CLAYTON FORRESTER!"

By the end of the show, most of the theatre was joining in. :D

ON another note, I just watched "The Rundown" tonight, starring The Rock, Christopher Walken, and Sean William Scott.  It's a fun and funny action movie.  Not realistic or anything, but still amusing and good for a laugh.

Also watched the indie film "Elephant".  It's about a high school shooting...like a ficticious Columbine.  I didn't like it.  There wasn't much on the character development, not much of a story, and wasn't very moving...other than a little disturbing.  I did like it how it TRIED to make you feel connected to the characters because it gave you their names, but it didn't really work.  I also liked how it was kinda boring, like the average day of high school student that suddenly goes wrong.  It got some critical acclaim, but I don't really see why.

I'd go with you, James, if you need someone to hold you through the scary parts, but you live to far away... ;B I am watching it though. No question about that! Yeah the Rundown is a great movie for just having fun and some good action. I want that one. I really enjoy the Rock more and more. The Scorpion king...meh but since then, he's really getting better and better. Can't wait for "Walking tall". Also Peter Jacksons latest one, "King Kong" remake.. that'll be a good one too...

BTW the last Star Wars movie is starting to take shape and it has gotten its name now. It's "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith". Although Star Wars as a series has deteriorated the second was better than the first and this third one looks like it'll be the best of the ast three...(hopefully)

Things that irritate me at a theatre...

*TALKING DURING THE MOVIE(captial punishment)
*LEAVING THE CELLPHONE ON(lifetime beheading)
*BRINGING KIDS TOO YOUNG TO WATCH AND THEY GET SCARED AND SCREAM AND STUFF(see above)

Well, it'd be kind of hard for the last movie to be *worse* than the first two. :P

The only good part of the first two was Ewan MacGregor as Obi-Wan, and not just because he's gorgeous, either.

Peace & Luv, Liz

J-ROC

I agree that Ewan McGreggor was brilliantly cast.

Natalie Portman is quite alright, too, if you ask me.

Liam Neeson was excellent, as well...but he was only in one, dangit!

Zero:  Thanks....at least someone here is willing to comfort me during a movie. :)

Yeah, Ewan was really good and also Liam, but I couldn't really stand the kid playing Anakin(in the second movie), and Natalie was a lot better in the second. In the first she acted as if she was constipated the whole time. I know, I know, she was supposed to be more "royal" or something like that, but that isn't how she came across.

It'll be really interesting to see all the developments and especially what happens to Count Dooku(also well cast). I my opinion, the first movie could be watched with the mute function enabled, and it would have been a better movie.(except for all Yoda lines of course)

Yeah, Christopher Lee (I THINK that's his name) as Count Dooku was also very well cast.

Both kids that played Anakin were pretty terrible.  I still think Hayden Christanson (second) wasn't quite as bad as Jake Lloyd (first).  Jake's "Whoopiees" in the shop there were the least enthusiastic celebration I've heard that wasn't meant to be sarcastic.
