On the bright side, they're both coming out on DVD soon...

It's not the same... :(
But yeah, those who are tardy buy the DVD. I won't though - I don't own a DVD player.
Those who don't have DVD players sponge on those who do ::)

I agree, watching movies in the theater is the best (I meant to watch both in the theater too, meh).

But watching movies at home has its own appeal... like being able to pause the movie to go pee and get more snacks, and being able to poke fun at things MST3K style without everyone yelling at you. Oh, and rewinding and rewatching really fun parts, or to check if that tiny little in-joke detail you saw really *is* what you thought it was.

Anyhoo. Both movies are/will be out on VHS too, never fear. Just without the cool extras. >:(

Hey, hang on a minute! I DO have a VCR!! My mother just sent me their old one today!!

*Opens the bag*

Oh fraps. She accidently sent their old CD-Player instead :furious:

Well, it's not a new movie, but... they aired Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone on TV the other day here.

Not bad, on the whole. What scenes they showed went decently, although some of the acting was a bit wooden. The special effects and music were nifty, of course!

I felt the movie was too rushed, though. They left out a number of things (more Gred and Forge! C'mon!) and shortened others. Would have been nice to see more of the classes (and teachers). For some odd reason, I find myself wishing they had more of the bits with Quirrell... I just liked the actor's portrayal of him. The "announcing the troll" scene in particular stuck me as hilarious.

I would probably like Snape and Draco a little more if I had seen just the movies. They both have a lot of style, especially Snape. (But Alan Rickman is way cool, anyway.) And Neville! He's so cute! (hugs) But aw, c'mon, where's Percy's glasses? They just seem a part of his personality somehow.

Didn't get to have Harrison's commentary on the movie yet, but he seemed to think it was fun. Even if he still kept mixing up Quirrell and Lupin. "Is he the really cool teacher you said you liked?" "No, I told you, that's the *third* movie. Now hush."

Peace & Luv, Liz

I heard from two credible sources that "The Incredibles" is really good.

Yeah, I heard it was good, too.

I'm probably going to rent "White Chicks" and "Waterboy" today.  :)

Yeah, it looked too cheesy from the trailers: "Do you have a charger?  :'("...  :X

White Chicks was pretty lousy.  Had two scenes that made me laugh out loud, but the rest merely got a smirk, if anything.

The Waterboy is great, stupid fun. :)

Also rented Ju-On, the Japanese version of "The Grudge".  I will wait until daylight to watch that. :D

lol...but I'm still wanting to see Cellular.  But as of right now, I'm planning to go see National Treasure the day after Thanksgiving.  Don't think I'll be able to go see any others anytime soon. :(

Because americans are too dense to get the reference?
j/k... don't shoot :P

Here it was translated to 'the wise men's stone', where 'wise men' is a commonly used word (something like 'elders').
"Philosopher's Stone" doesn't have a known equivalent in my language.
