Re: The Philosopher's Stone

The original title of Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone in England was the Philosopher's Stone. Thus in Austrailia, which is a commonwealth..it probably would be there too. :)

I think everyone should see Bridget Jones, the Edge of Reason...hehe.  Its not as funny as the book was and they made some majjjor changes but I still liked it.

Just a little late... I knew that it's called "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" everywhere else but in the US. ;) Storm's partly right... they changed the name because the US editors thought US readers would be too dense to get the reference. Go editors. :P

I saw Hero last night. The use of color was amazing.  It was a beautiful story.
She's back. She's proud. She will overcome!

Personally, I didn't think "Hero" was as good as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon."

Found this the other day...

Babylon 5 Movie Starts Filming in April

Not only that, but it has Galen in it... *fangirl squeal*

And while I don't have a link off-hand, I've heard that they're *finally* filming a big-screen version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Pardon, I must go and cavort and frolic with joy!

I'm looking for an old movie i think somewhere in the 70's, but i cant remember its name. I think its a Walt Disney Movie

It starts with a big Alien Spaceship taking off from a Football Field, then these two Children are left behind. They have special Powers and can read eachother's mind.

They meet allot of Friends and then they hold hands with these six kids when they all jump over some fence.

Later in the Movie, the Alien boy gets brainwashed and is using his power to try and kill his Sister with a Steel Bar fom a Building being build.

Anyway, the Boy get's back to normal and then later the two Alien Kids fly off in there Spaceship again who is waiting for them at the Football Field.

Does anybody know the name of the Movie.

Daventry:

I believe that "Return From Witch Mountain" might be the movie you're thinking of.

I have met "Galen" at a convention, and he's a great guy.  I saw the short trailer for Hitchhiker's and even though it didn't really show anything from the movie, it looks like they are on the right track.

Daventry: NP. I never cease to be amazed at the weird stuff I manage to remember. :D

MJ: I'm glad to hear Peter Woodward is a nice fellow. He's certainly a superb actor. I <3 his voice... accented, yet still precisely pronounced and perfectly modulated. He could make a phone book sound interesting! (I have such a horrible weakness for the classically trained variety of British actor...) And he has a wonderfully expressive (and nice to look at... *ahem*) face as well. Add to that the fact that I've always found the Technomages fascinating, and well... *squee*!

Shadowfax

I guess you like him then!

(Makes me feel proud to be British hearing that!)
When cities burn and armies turn,
and flee in disarray,
Cowards will cry 'tis best to fly
and fight another day.
But warriors know it in their marrow when they die and fall,
It is better to have fought and lost than not have fought at all.

Jeysie

Shadow: Heh. I've got this list sorta... Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, etc... 'specially Oldman. ;D And that's just the *fellows*... there's also Julie Andrews, Deborah Kerr, Maggie Smith...

Maybe it's because over in your neck of the woods theater is a respected art, and many film actors are also stage thespians... whereas here in the US film acting and theater acting are usually two separate matters, and theater generally gets less popular clout.

Well, Momma and I finally got the chance to go see "Phantom of the Opera."  Talk about a wonderful movie!  Granted, I'm sure you have to like musicals to enjoy it.  I just sat through it humming through it (got the soundtrack for Christmas, and I know the music, even if I don't know the words).  It's definitely a movie that I want to get when it comes out! :)

Finally got round to watching School of Rock and LMAO throughout the whole thing! Its been some time since a film has had that effect on me too hehe. I think my favourite line was

QuoteExcuse me, Excuse me! *principal smiles and talks calmly* I can tell you now that all your children are missing!

And the music wasn't half bad either!
