I've seen them on TV before, but not in real life.  The squirrels I see still jump from branch to branch and possibly navigate with their tail, but they certainly don't float.

I said 'for a short while'. And AFAIK all squirrels navigate with that tail, why else would they have it?

I'd say something about it being the flash that caused the red eyes...but sometimes I wonder  At least twice, she's crawled up my pants (sharp little claws)...many more times, she's knawed on my fingers with her sharp little teeth.

AFAIK, a cat can either have orange eyes, or green eyes, but not red. I think it's a safe bet to blame it on the flash.
Yes, those little kittens don't know yet how to dose (?sp) their cla-effort so they just grab anything they can get hold off, and if you're wearing light clothing... and yes, knawing on fingers/earlobes is also a favorite pastime (?sp) of little kittens. Be lucky they're just little sharp teeth, I've had an encounter with a full grown cat's teeth, and although she noticed soon enough it was nothing to eat (and retracted switftly, accompanied by me giving her a little slap), I felt it nonetheless.

I've seen blue, yellow and green eyes on various cats. If anyone wants a long and boring explanation of how bright light turns light-colored cat eyes red, I can oblige.
