Well, when I took Orli to the doctor to have blood work done, they gave me a really weird look.  So I'm assuming that they might throw me into an insane asylum should I ask for a DNA test.

So what am I supposed to do?  Cut off part of his fur?  Then I'll be accused of taking a knife after him again...and this time with evidence.  Ain't gonna happen, hun!

Ah yes, I forgot about the Siamese kind (blue). I've yet to encounter yellow ones though.

Quote from: Jeysie on November 09, 2004, 04:56:48 PMOh, and it's "douse" (I think that's the word you wanted... cla-effort? Enthusiasm?) and "pasttime". ;)
Nope, my dictionary says 'dose' is correct. However, the cla-effort should've been claw-effort. I was wondering about the number of s's and the number of t's in "pasttime". Since I thought it had something to do with pass time, I was leaning more towards the double s than the double t, though.

A cat I used to have had yellow eyes (not sure what breed of cat he was... something tabby-esque). Rainy has green eyes (he's a grey tabby), and my mom's cat Snowy has light blue eyes (she's part Himalayan, part Siamese).

As for dose vs. douse... I think I understand now? I had thought you meant kittens don't know how to repress/control their rambunctiousness. "Douse", "to put out or dampen" works, but "dose", "to give out in portions" kinda works too. I'm just accustomed to hearing the word "dose" in medical contexts. (As in a dose of a drug, or to dose someone with a drug.)

Anyhoo. As for light-eyed cats and redness... I was going to give a long explanation, but while making sure I had remembered my facts correctly I came across this page which explains things rather nicely.

Since I was referring to the claws of young kittens, there's not much 'dowsing' to be done there. They're either out, or they're in. But, they don't know yet how to to retract those claws properly, and that combined with them being inquisitive leads to them climbing anything they can, and using the full extent of their claws. And I have a lot of experience with young kittens to know too. 8)

Indeed, it's sooo easy to alter pictures nowadays, especially if they're in electronic form. ::)
