Well, I can only comment for myself here, because I honestly don't care what other people do to their bodies.  Sure, the artistry is cool and such...but whatever.
As for normal piercings, meh.  Freaky ones (like genetalia) freak me out.

For me, I have no piercings and no tattoos.  I hate pain and I have no desire to mutilate my beautiful body.  Plain and simple.

Only jewlery I will wear are rings (ie: graduation ring, engineering right), nice watches, a necklace if it had sentimental value (ie: a cross, if I had such beliefs)
Just look at me,
I'm living proof that,

The only "jewelry" I wear is a watch.  I would never get piercings and will most likely never get a tattoo either.  XD

there we go :P those are normals -> ring, watch, necklace and such :P

but like, nipple piercing or as james said in other funny places :P it's something I would personally never found sexy or such, actually... it's kind of the opposite :P

And Jeysie,
arent you allergic to any stuff? because on top that Im also picky too, I am ellergic :-X if I wear something not gold (white or yellow) or in its default silver, I just get a skin rash, horrible I tell you, and it happened THE most with earrings, but it's the same with necklace, bracelet and rings, ugh :(

Louisiana Night

I saw this on funniest Home Videos.

A boy(4-6 years old) has a spider tattoo(paint). He's happy about it. His mom asks if he plans to get a real one, when he's older. He says "uh-huh"(yes), with a smile. Then hismom says ''they put them on with needles". The boy looks at her, like this  :o . Then she asks ""Do you still want one?". The boy says, "uh-uh"(no), with a scared look on his face.

You're just weird, girl  XB  j/k!  And, I would think you already knew this...but Mr. Bloom has two tattoos... :(.  Oh well, doesn't take away from his good-looken-ness :P

I'm allergic to watch metal... which is another reason why I don't wear a "normal" watch. But other than that I'm not tactile allergic to anything, I just hate the feel of having something around my neck, wrists, or fingers. My skin's so sensitive that even a slight breeze nudging my arm hair or a stray loose thread brushing my skin can startle me and make me jump. :P

speaking from someone who had her hair even till the end of her back, it kind of true it doesnt takes 24 hours to dry though but good god it does takes a lot of time sometimes (at that lenght) but  the reason why many girls don't wash their hair DAILY is mostly because if you do actually see a hair stylist that's a big no no, you are supposed to wash it each 2 or 3 days as a matter of fact, it all goes according to lenght and fullness of it, I've had my hair in like... 5 different stylist in my life and I always got told sort of the same, I used to wash it everyday and oh well, I've seen to be proven how important is for the hair to get their own shape as it goes like that, it makes it healthier actually, weird huh? but you can all see my hair anyhow :P I may hate it but ppl seem to like it.

And yes I do use a dryer I can't stand my hair wet more than 10 minutes after a shower, after that it FREAKING annoys me... badly.

Blerg. I wonder just what sort of scalps those people who advocate washing every 2-3 days actually have. My hair starts getting greasy, like, 8-10 hours after I wash it, and by the next morning it's just gross. And my bed-head is even worse... once it starts defying gravity, no amount of brushing will tame it, I've tried. :P And that's just with *short* hair... another reason why I don't grow my hair. ::)

Never used a hair dryer, even back when I had long hair... I just end up with major frizz.

As for funky hair color... I went to a liberal arts high school, so I actually was different for *not* having strange-colored hair. Dying your hair with Kool-Aid and Manic Panic was all the rage. I sooooo wanted to dye my hair purple, but my mom swore if I did she'd make me shave it. I tried pointing out that me having my head shaved would look even stranger than me with purple hair, but it didn't work. :P Still, my mom let me do almost whatever else I wanted, so I figured it wasn't worth fighting over.

Of course, now that I actually can dye my hair without worrying about permission (I'd do it subtlely/tastefully enough to fit in with my job) I know that in order to properly dye dark hair a color like that you have to strip it first, and that's nasty to your hair. (sigh) Figures.

So I just sometimes dye it red (a normal red, that is) instead. (sigh) I wish I had red hair and green eyes instead of stupid brown! :P

Peace & Luv, Liz

Kimmie

yeh i agree..i think if i had red hair it may solve my problems...or atleast aid them slightly.

Say

when I washed my hair daily I lost more hair than what I normally do now, not to mention my hair is dry, I do it and I would be a broomstick walking ( I actually was ) and if you do get to dye your hair it tends to go breaking -more- easy AND dry, which completly tends to screw up a bit your normal hair behaviour, I dye my hair monthly to cover my roots, and I happily dye it light brown <3

Kimmie: Yeah, my best friend had red hair and green eyes, and she always had to beat the guys off with a stick... they all were in love with her. Drove me totally insane. I mean, she was pretty, but not enough so from me for there to be such a difference, IMHO. Blah. :P

As for washing... I actually have problems with dry scalp. So it's like... I either walk around looking like a greaseball, or I walk around with decent looking hair, but also with itchy scalp and dandruff. Have I ever mentioned I HATE my BODY?!! :P Sorry. :(

With me, I don't have my ears pierced.  I'm sure I'll get them one day...but haven't gotten around to it.  I'm a procrastinator in many things :P
I had my ear pierced for a few years but when i started getting bashed more at school i took it out because they would try to rip it out :( :'(

How do you measure the length of a chin? ;P My hair is (by nature) un-curlable. And furthermore, if I do not apply fluid (water ofcourse) at regular intervals, certain parts of it may start to stick out. That's an important reason why I don't like my hair short, because the more weight my hair consists of, the easier Earth's gravity can keep those parts down. 8) I wouldn't know whether or not my hair is thick or thin, what I do know is that, apparently, I have lots of it (I haven't counted it yet  XB.
Oh yeah, I have a nasty tic (?sp) of running my fingers through my own hair regularly. :-X

Quote from: Jeysie on July 07, 2004, 03:47:34 PMI don't believe in messing with Mother Nature in general, except maybe as a temp thing (like a fake tattoo or temp crazy hair color or something), or to fix a genuine problem (like a badly misshapen nose or something).
Same here. I myself have a watch, a necklace for my zodiac sign, and that's it. Don't like piercings in any bodily area other than the ear(lobe)s. ::) Actually, I don't like any piercings on males. I'm also not very fond of tattoos, the real ones that is. When I was a young 'un, I too did those washable fake tattoos on my skin, but those didn't stay on much longer than a day. When I went to school, things were still very traditional (especially high school), which meant no special hair colors, or any fancy jewelry (like piercings) were allowed, unless you wanted to get thrown out. :o

I get the feeling you know what I meant, and you're just playing with me, but I'll play along anyway. ;P

By "chin-length", I meant it's long enough that the end of the hair goes down to around the tip of the person's chin. (Similar to "shoulder-length"... down to the person's shoulders.)

I do as well, although I generally only do it when I'm stressed out and/or tired. I could always measure how bad a day at work I had by how messed up my hair was when I got home. :P

Well, there's actually still a lot of schools in the US with strict dress code. Just that, as I said, my high school was a liberal arts-based one (as well as academic-based). Try getting a school full of intelligent and well-read artists, actors, dancers, singers, and instrumentalists to "conform" to a dress code! ;) Generally, as long as you didn't wear anything that violated public decency laws, or had any hateful speech written on it, nobody cared. (And some people took full advantage of the freedom, trust me!) Some teachers had a thing against hats, but not many.

koko_99_2001

I know that at both of my high schools, we had the dress-code...no jeans that sag, no showing skin (a girl's stomach), etc.  But I doubt that it was enforced all that much except for a few teachers.

;P I don't think it ever reaches down to my shoulders, it might slightly pass my chin though. I don't have it cut until my front bles[/color] starts getting in front of my eyes.

My hair doesn't get messed up by my 'playing' with it and ofcourse, I can't do it whilst I'm busy typing, so I guess I do it when I'm resting temporarily (to avoid RSI ofcourse. :suffer: NOT) XD

Jason, I think that's a little TMI  XB

Anyway, I don't have a dry scalp...I have an oily scalp.  And did you know that there's a such thing as oily hair dandruff??  I didn't either until I talked to my hair dresser a couple years ago.  But I have to wash my hair every day.  Occasionally I can go skip a day, but that second day, I better not be going anywhere, or I find a way to pull my hair up!
