Questing Character

The dress code thing reminded me of a bunch of teachers at my school.  I think the "Village Idiot" in our school newspaper summed up the situation at the end of the year best:
Well, crud. I can't find it. :P
Anyways, there was a group of female teachers who wore the *most* unflattering clothes and, from their point of view I'm sure, "strictly enforce the dress code".  Unfortunately, they were not well-versed in the dress code.  Apparently, it only applied to females.  Also, if you ask them (I guess) the shortness of someone's skirt isn't important, what's important is that you don't see the lower back or the shoulder blades!
Honestly, I know people who were sent home for wearing tank tops but you can wander around and see girls who are wearing skirts that barely cover their underwear (actually, a few skirts that didn't).  Now, it probably wouldn't distract me that much from schoolwork to see some girl wandering around with *gasp* her shoulders exposed...whereas, it's either going to distract me or disgust me to see someone whose skirt is too short. Why these teachers think shoulders are so important is beyond me....

Ok, with all this talk about hair washing...what do you wash your hair with?

I have a tea shampoo I use a couple days a week (it really strips the oil out of the hair and it's expensive, which is why I don't use it more than two days a week).  On the other days, I use either Herbal Essence or Pantene Pro-V.

I wash my hair once with Pantene Pro-V Clarifying Shampoo, then once with Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Shampoo. (As in the old cliche, "Lather, rinse, repeat.") I know I probably shouldn't use a clarifying shampoo so often, but my hair gets so greasy every day... I always have to wash it twice, and I find that using "normal" shampoo twice still leaves it a little greasy/limp.

I then dry my hair with a towel, flip my head forward and comb it out a bit with my fingers, then flip my head back and comb (also with my fingers) it back into some semblance of sanity. No gel or anything.

Yeah, I'm low maintenance. ;) I don't wear makeup... my acne is bad enough as it is, and it never seems to give all that much of a visual effect for me anyway. I just use some toner, and good ol' Clearasil. (Not that the Clearasil actually does much of anything to get rid of my acne, but if I don't use it my acne gets even worse, so, bleh.)

Fixing hair in the morning...I blow dry my hair (unless I'm not going anywhere, then I don't use the hair dryer), using a round brush to either help flip out or curl under the hair (depending on how I want to fix the hair).  While this is going on, the curling iron is plugged in, warming up...guess what I do next??  *gasp* I use the curling iron on the hair!  Then the make-up goes on...yeah, I'm a little more high maintenance than you, Jeysie, but I'm sure some people take even longer! :P

Hee! Well, don't feel bad, Koko... my "low-maintenance" is mostly out of futility. ;P My hair is naturally fairly wavy, so curling would be a waste of time. And I like my wavy-ness, so I don't straighten my hair. In fact, that's while I finger-comb my hair... I find that if I use a real comb or brush it flattens my hair too much.

I can't use a hair dryer, either... otherwise I end up looking like a poster child for "White Girl With Afro". It's not pretty. Literally.

And gel or hair spray is pointless, because by time I put on enough of it to actually control my unruly hair, I get the stereotypical "hair helmet".

Yeah, my body pretty much does whatever it wants. (mutter, grumble)

I wouldn't know what shampoo I wash my hair with. It's definitely not a brand name. Talking about low maintenance: I just wash my hair once a week. ;P However, I do comb it (with a comb) each morning and evening, and sometimes during the day too, except on Saturday morning, when I usually just get up at noon, and if there's nothing important planned, what's the use?

I've not heard any complaints about any possible odor-smell coming from me from the people I interact with IRL, so I see no need to raise the frequency.

I dunno, my ex-boyfriend claimed the same thing. If he tried coming over my house without showering, I'd tell him he wasn't coming anywhere near me until he went home and washed up. Blech. :P

Two good things about Harrison... he showers every day and does his laundry regularly. <3

My goodness...you can't ask for a better roommate than that.  Wait, one more question: does he pick up his dirty dishes? (hahaha, that's one of the ongoing discussions in my behavior management class!)

Well, he rinses his dirty dishes and such... but I'm the one who ends up washing them. Which reminds me, they're starting to pile up again. :P

But at least he picks them up, right? :P

As long as we're talking house chores, I'd rather clean the bathroom 3 times than dust. I reall loathe dusting. Doing the dishes...fine, doing laundry...fine, making the bed....ehhh I don't know. But dusting???
I'm sure dust is a love child of the dark forces!

Yes, he does at least do that. :)

I have to admit, I'm lazy at cleaning myself. Cleaning as in scrubbing, that is. When it comes to picking things up, putting them away, and staying organized, I'm anal about that. But actually pulling out the cleanser and scrubbing things... I'm kind of terrible there. I think in the four years I've lived my current apartment, I've mopped the floor twice. :-[

But no, we don't have roaches or grime or filth or anything everywhere, if you're wondering. I do clean when things start getting grubby. No, we just have some stray cat hair and a bit of popcorn and bread crumbs here and there. ;P

You don't!!  Stop putting yourself down!  You know how that drives me crazy!

Ok, new rule in my thread: no putting yourselves down! :P

I can just about do any chore...I'd rather not clean the bathroom, though.  I LOVE cooking!  Love it!  I enjoy sewing...if I can just figure out how to work the sewing machine! :P  I've been washing dishes/using the dishwasher since I was about 8 or 9...so I have no trouble figuring that one out...

I know one of the criteria I would love for my future husband to meet would be that he loves to cook.  I've said before that I can't really imagine anything more romantic than the two of us cooking together (to which someone, I think it was James, replied that he could).

And Jason, if you want to teach me to use the sewing machine, one of two things needs to happen...you fly to Tennessee...or I fly to Australia.  Since I don't think your mom will let you fly such a distance, I doubt you'll be coming here.  And since I don't have a passport, I don't think I'll be flying there.  So, I doubt that will happen :(
