Oops...came out kinda wrong here too...
How strange, in this window the spacing's alright, but when you watch it in the thread, it's not. :-\

If you all mean that the spacing is correct in your text boxes on the Post Reply screen, but is obviously a bit off in the regular thread...

I believe that most browsers have a default where the text typed into a text box is in a monospace/fixed-width font such as Courier New. But the default "normal display text" setting is usually a non-monospace font such as Arial, Times New Roman, Georgia, etc.

So when you're typing the art in a monospace font, every letter and space is all the same width, so it lines up right. But in the displayed post with a non-monospace font, the letters and spaces are not all the same size, and the spaces in particular are usually narrower than the letters, so it gets all funky.

That would be my guess, anyway. ;]

I know I edited my message about four times in order to get it as close to being right as possible!  I also previewed it a couple times!

Did you try an evenly spaced font?

Bushie: Try setting your browser display font to Fixedsys or Courier New and see if that helps. ;)

Why do I get the feeling that everyone's competing to see who spent the most time in school and work and still had time to post?? :S

hahah that reminds me one of the things I checked out the first day of work was if I had internet anywhere at work ;P

This is the first job I've had where I have Internet access, and I spend way too much time online. Yet, I still manage to get all my work done in half the shift 99% of the days. Says a lot about my job. :P

haha omg! yeah well I've been away a lot lately, so now the only moments I got free are mornings, other than that I'm simply offline.

About the internet, yes I believe so! it's soooo crappy because it goes down A LOT, it's at my boss' office actually but that's like.... the hang out place? ;P so truth is if I really really wanted to use the computer I would have to fight it with 6 guys (and yeah I include my boss in there too haha) so I think being the new one and the only girl.... erm, no I don't really think I'll get to use that (if any) moment soon :P

my work has nothing to do with it (using pc's or stuff), I actually do tutoring and I have to be dealing with ppl and in sessions and stuff, I hardly ever have a freaking free time anyhow, but I just got a new phone!! ! I can get online with it if I want to :P I'll go activate all that crap at telcel today hopefully :)

I now realize I didn't have a modem at work until end-1997. Then we had a modem but no ISP-account. Then, mid-1998, we had a modem, I had a (paid) ISP-account and a colleague of mine had gotten hold of a CD with which you could sign up fof free for a short time, so he used that at work. Afterwards, the computer which had the modem was relocated, and once more, we were without internet. So, was the KQ IX forum online in mid-1998?

Back on-topic.

Cat, do you like bagpipes? XD

koko_99_2001

What I've heard, I've enjoyed.  Just haven't heard a ton of bagpipe music.

It's odd that I like bagpipe music, because it's not an uncommon thing to have played at your funeral(in Northern Louisiana). :-\

In fact, almost everytime I think of bagpipes, I think of funerals. :(

Jeysie

(thinks of the end scene in Wrath of Khan with Scotty playing "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes)

koko_99_2001

Bagpipe music isn't used here at TN funerals.  I've only heard bagpipe music from CDs...

It took me a few seconds, but I remembered the movie.

That's the Star Trek movie, where the guy with the white hair(Khan?), wants revenge on Kirk(for the killing of his son). Right?

Yah, that's the one. They play bagpipes at a funeral at the end, which is what made me think of it. XD
