Of course. The main characters never actually die in Sf movies/series.

True, but SF is one of the few genres where the concept gets elevated to the level of "cliche". :D

Heck, Babylon 5 strived for realism, and it still brought a character back from the dead. (Of course, it permanently killed several others, so I guess it balances out somewhere. ;-D )

That reminds me of The Lost World. I'm not sure if it's original, or generic. :-\

A Canadian company, had control of it the first season,  and an Australian company took control during season 2. Well, if I understand correctly. :P

As soon as the Australian company got a hold of it, they  killed off a main character(a Canadian actor). Then they got rid of the another main character(an American actor). Then the got rid of another main characte(a Canadian actor). Then, all the main characters, were played by Australians. XD

The funny thing is, as far as I'm concerned, they kept the best actors out of the bunch. ;D

Incase it didn't make sense, the Canadian actor's characters, were killed off. The American's character, left you wondering what happened to her.

P.S. They added most of the original actors back, by the 3rd season.

*decides to keep to ST and SW, so he makes more sense to people*

No, I was just correcting an earlier post of mine, somewhere... ;D

Bagpipes are not mainstream musical instruments here, so there's not much chance of you ever hearing one playing, unless you specifically search for it. :S

Bagpipes are great when played well.

Sheridan died a more permament death at the end. So its still realistic :)

I don't debate, I ramble with STYLE!

I don't remember if this was mentioned, but last night I was watching Stargate with my family.  One of the characters, Daniel, died.  But from what my mom was telling me, he came back in another season.  Just another example of people not staying dead in sci-fi shows.

I like Daniel. He was my favoritre character in Stargate.

As far as watching the spin-off, no I haven't(unless you're mentioning the cartoon, which I watched a few episodes of).

dew7

Did you like Daniel because he has the same name as you or was it deeper than that  --- LOL   :P

He was the translator. He figured out how to use the Stargate(if only he had known how to get back :P ). He also was on a quest to find his wife. Since his wife was *thinks of words for non-Stargate fans* being controlled by aliens, it made things interesting.

If his name was Phil, I'd still like the character.

P.S. Some of what I said, is about the movie.

B'rrr

I've only seen the movie, it was kinda fun  :D

IIRC correctly, and if we're not talking about two different episodes, Daniel didn't really die but was elevated into another level of consciousness. And I've never seen any episides in which he was brought back to life. Television stations overhere are sometimes infamous for not following the series episodes very well, or they rerun an earlier series right after another, so maybe that happened at the station your mom was watching too. ::)

That is a bummer that the tv stations don't follow the episodes correctly there.  You would think no one was paying attention.   ::)

One commercial station even let the magazines know they're going to send out a certain movie and then managed to broadcast an entirely different version of the movie (different actors and such), and nto the one that they pretended it was going to be! :firuous:
And ofcourse nobody pays attention, since most of it's broadcast automatically. ::)

I have a very simple scheme devised to do that which is: watch them as little as possible. Unfortunately, I do not have a devise that's used to calculate (extrapolate is more likely) the number of viewers to certain programs, and even if we did, I doubt it can take into account 4 tv's simultaneous. :P Other than not watching, there's not much I can do to change commercial stations.

CC, you're right about Daniel ascending to a higher level.  Mom told me about it last night, but I felt it was easier to explain by saying he died. :P
