See... that's what I mean, I made about 3 or 4 posts after that time, but they've all gone and a couple from some other threads, but those I can understand... lol...

I don't think it's just you, Grundy. I've lost about 6 posts from last night, and some posts by other people around the same time are also missing ???. And I liked those posts :(.

US= 2nd place

;D

P.S. Maybe the lost posts, have something to do with those updates(or whatever they're doing).

What's so bad about the US being second place, huh?

That is NOT funny.  :S

Oh well, like you said, we'll finish on top. lol

The forum's been acting seriously weird for me the past few days... maybe there *is* some posts>dev/null stuff going on.

As for the Olympics... with women's team finals and all the gymnastic all-arounds and events coming up, that's a good place for us to rack up medals. Of course, the Chinese are aces at gymnastics too... it should be interesting!

At any rate... I like seeing USers win medals, obviously, but I'm just in it to see *everyone* who can compete at the top of their form in their sport, in ways I could only imagine doing myself in my wildest daydreams.

Peace & Luv, Liz

Yeah, I think one of the mods must have thrown a big tantrum and gone on a big, post deleting rampage!  :S

Yeah, it's great to see people like the South Africans win gold in events that the US and Australia normally dominate. As long as it's not the US beating the Aussies, then I'm happy if it's anyone else.   XD

Women's gymnastics got team silver.  Romania got gold (again).  But I'm still loving the 1996 Olympics.  THAT was awesome.  And the Chinese didn't place in the men's gymnastics, did they? (I don't remember...bad memory, remember :P)

Koko!! (whines) There's still one rotation to go on the coverage! Bad Koko. :P

Did the Russians get bronze? IMHO they would have done better if they hadn't had Khorkina. I've never been fond of her style as a gymnast.

Edit: Yep, they did. And Khorkina actually smiled during her floor routine. I may die of shock!

The Romanians deserved to win... they were pretty all-around solid, except for a bobble on uneven bars. And their floor routines were sweet. I think the USers accidentally lost their pep to the Romanians! (I know the USers were told to behave with more dignity, but the ladies were a bit lacking in their characteristic floor vivaciousness, IMHO.)

And yeah, the Chinese men did uncharacteristically bad. :(

Peace & Luv, Liz

Sorry, Jeysie.  You should know better than to read this thread as you're watching the Olympics.  But I had gone to see a movie, so I got the results beore I left.  Didn't realize it was still on when I got home.  I appologize.

(waits for Grundy and Jael to kill Racx)

Koko: Well, the prime-time coverage is from 8PM to 12AM EST... pretty safe to assume that the network is going to spread the big-ticket events out over the whole evening to make sure you watch the whole time block. :P

And personally I think posting while watching the games is fun... if more of us were in similar time zones/availablity, we could speculate and nibble our fingernails in suspense together! (OK, that would work better on MSN, but my computer is nowhere near the TV, darn it.)

Out of curiousity, what time is the prime-time block in CST?

Peace & Luv, Liz

koko_99_2001

It's from 7-11...in other words, it runs at the same time as in EST.  So we COULD nibble our fingernails in suspense together...but can't do TOO much since everyone in the family likes to watch parts of it together.  Hmmm, I wonder who's playing tonight...
