I think I'll say it here again/also/etc. I seriously doubt the game's going to be released in 20 days. Look at what they have to finish: to start with, the Character Contest and the online voice auditions. And I'm sure there's more going on behind the scenes that isn't finished...and maybe some other work that's not behind the scenes and I just can't remember what it is. But there's going to be a huge announcement in 20 days. I believe that's what we're looking forward to and speculating about.

Well, I don't know what the big suprise is going to be, but to comment on what you said; I think they will release the game before the voice auditions are done. I emailed them a little while ago just to find out if they had decided one way or another about mine (I know, I'm impaitent ). Anyway, they said they hadn't even gotten to LISTENING to them yet, so it will be awhile until the auditions are done! But I think they will put the game out without the voices, and then produce the speech pack (like AGD).

Now, all that I have to do is wait until the designated date, and I will either find out the release date of the game, the first trailer, or I will log on to see the first chapter of the game brought online. (I'm hoping for choice 3. Anyone else hoping for that?)

I'm not. I mean, I'd love for the WHOLE game to come out, not just one chapter! I would think that having just one chapter to play and then being denied the rest kinda sucks.

Interesting view, Elessar. But I don't know if that's true. A little while back (a month ago??) they mentioned they were beginning to listen to the auditions. I just don't think they'll put out a half-finished game (half-finished meaning without the voices) for the fans. I think they've waited this long to give us something we'll enjoy. I don't think they'll release the game unless it was 100% as perfect as they could get it.

Well seeing as how they were seriously considering to make the voice pack mandatory, I doubt that theory holds any water. They might have even decided already to make it mandatory, but even if they haven't, I doubt they'd release the game without the voice pack.

Anyway I'd say that the countdown is towards the next "big" update (every update is big in its own special way ). In this update I expect some word on the online auditions, the closure of the voting for the character contest, perhaps the results of the contest, and probably a trailer. Also hopefully that new feature they've been hyping up for the entire year

I hope so. I only thought they might put out the game and the speech pack at different times since they said the pack is going to be spereate for downloading. But I hope you're right and that they don't put out anything until everything is done.

The exact words they said in the email were: "We still have not gone through the online voice auditions yet, but we will be starting them soon." This was around the beginning of April.

Mike's been busy with other KQ9 duties, including 3D texturing and recording the live voices (which have higher priority than the online ones).  

Also, we are not planning on releasing the game without the voice pack.  It will be a separate but highly recommended game component.

It's all about the new AoTW format Cesar wants to unveil...of course it could also be that long-awaited announcement that the game will be text-based and have 16-bit sprites to get back to the look-and-feel roots of the oldschool KQ.

Just one chapter released is like ordering a large pizza...they deliver one slice and tell you the rest of the pizza is still in the oven...it'll be out "sometime" so just chew on that one piece as long as you can, maybe even regurgitate it and see how many ways you can chew it again.

Are you saying that the truth to what's coming has already been said or has already happened and we need to find it?   Your not serious, are you? I think I would prefer to wait though. Not to ruin the surprise if you can call it that.  I don't want to wait, but I will. Even waiting as long as we do will haunt my brain even during school hours where I'm distracted enough.   Although I will happily embrace distraction.

I hope it's the first game trailer and a playable demo as well as the new art of the week. I miss the updates to the art of the week. I seem to like it a lot. The art work is very good as well.

I'm betting it's a trailer or a playable demo of the game. It says "see the silver lining in...", so my first guess is that it's a trailer. If it is a trailer, I hope it's a long one, and not just some thirty second trailer.

I think you're right. Either that or something along this line from the promo section:

As the production grows, we plan to release more promos, teasers, trailers and eventually clips from the game. So expect this section to grow very soon!

So maybe a trailer or a clip from the game?
