Yes, we were, but that was once upon a time, long, long ago, even in a far away land for some of you...  ;D

I'm good at answering the questions of newbies, as I know what it's like to be frustrated when no one will answer a question of mine (happened a couple times on other distant forums). And I do try to get things back on topic occasionally when I feel the topic is worth saving. ;D

I wouldn't really say going off-topic is bad and people who do should get punished.  I think it depends on the degree (how far off-topic it is), the frequency (how often the user does it) and how annoyed other people get.

Some topics will be extremely serious and if some wacko decides to put "ROSELLA IS HOT!" 30 times in a post, for no apparent reason, then I would consider that an offense.  They could destroy the whole flow of the discussion and really piss off some people.  But if he just posted it once, sort of in response to something mentioned in a post, then it would be more acceptable and probably wouldn't count as an offense.

Basically it all depends on the situation.  Newbies don't always bother to read the rules and tend to get upset when no one pays attention to them when they break them.  Of course, I'm talking about the extreme cases.  Most newbies obey the rules.  :)

I don't remember ever having spammers or flamers here.
Only those annoying people who come over once every blue moon, and post something just to piss everyone off  :P

I have tried myself, but I can only stay awake for a max of 18 hours at a time. It's impossible for me to pull all-nighters, though I have tried many times.

I'm capable of staying awake physically for long periods of times if I really want to. However, mentally I turn into a zombie after about 24 hours or so, so it ends up not being very worth it. Although I do remember spending a few shifts at my old jobs almost literally ringing register in my sleep (like on the Day After Thanksgiving :P).

My record has been 3 days in a row without ANY sleeping AT ALL, since I'm a designer I do happen to have NO LIFE AT ALL... lol, its always work and under extreme times, plus my clients are abusive and they are like *rings phone at midnight* "OMG SAY I NEED YOU TO WORK ON SOMETHING PLZ, I NEED THE PROMO DO THE BUDGET ASAP ETC ETC"....
