Would you? At least with men, you always know where you stand. Women have this tendency to... well, Racx caught it first-hand. One moment everything's all hunky-dory, the next... WHAM!, everything's messed up! And women tend to say one thing when they really mean another... and they make stupid choices and then complain when the bad/stupid logical conclusions of their choices actually occur. Yeesh. And let's not forget the "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" sorts of questions that women ask.

And then there's fashion... women always complain about how fashion stuff is uncomfortable and whatnot... yet they buy it anyway! So the designers make more of it! And of course, us women who are actually sane about our clothing are left going nuts trying to find decent stuff. (I mean, seriously... high-heeled shoes! Women buy these and wear them! If that's not proof that women are insane, I don't know what is. :P Meanwhile, because the fashion designers keep making high heels, you can't find women's dress shoes that won't destroy your feet or make you fall flat on your face, and still look pretty and feminine. It's a perpetual downward spiral.)

I dunno. It seems like if I were attracted to women, I'd spend the whole relationship stressed out over wondering when the other shoe was going to drop. Or that I'd suddenly get caught up in their Multiple Personality Disorder.

Edit: (cough) (insert apology for random rant here)

So that's why women keep buying high-heeled shoes and destroying their feet in the process. It's because they have a hard time finding decent shoes! :o
Thanks for clearing that up for me, Jeysie.
Don't know if I prefer illogical or logical people. I myself am very logical (most of the time). 8)

I hate it when people make such generalizations about women being illogical and driven by emotion and not common sense and all that crap. I know men who are just as "illogical" and "emotional" as any women and vice versa. It's also irritating that you use one derranged woman as an example to dump on the whole gender. FYI, a similar incident happened to me with the ignorer being male :(
Maybe it's just me, but I find men as difficult to understand as women. :-[

I totally agree about the heels... I don't wear high heels myself, mostly because of the discomfort and the falling down part - I usually manage to stumble enough in flat shoes, so why tempt fate? ;P
Another irritating thing is that fashion designers don't usually think nice clothes are worth making over size 2... sometimes I wonder whether making baby clothes was their true calling :P

Quote from: Jeysie on March 13, 2004, 04:47:05 PMMaybe it's just because I'm not very feminine that men tend to make more sense to me. Unfortunately this much dismayed all my male friends, who hoped I could give them insights on their crushes/girlfriends. "Do you know why she's driving me nuts with (insert weird, illogical behavior here)?" "...no, actually, I haven't a clue. Doesn't make any sense to me either." "Er, but aren't you a girl?" "Yeah, but it doesn't mean I understand them, I'm afraid."

I don't think I'm any more "feminine" than you Jeysie... and I don't understand women that supposedly act "feminine" any more than you ::)
I have very few male friends, and none of them ever ask me for advice when it comes to women, but my female friends always tell me about their significant other's (insert weird, illogical behavior here) that's driving them nuts. The only difference IMO is that for the same behavior you would call guys "idiots" and girls "illogical/emotional" ;P

oh my god!

Im like 101% femenine myself, freaking proud of it, I buy as many good clothe I can, I buy high heels and I dont freaking destroy my feets and I freaking know how to walk, makes me wonder what kind of woman do you know Jeysie, being femenine doesnt mean being a bimbo or being stupid, just for the fact you girls do not feel related to that doesnt means you have an accurate perspective on the matter, besides if you are not then I believe you are exactly noone to be qualified enough to judge it hence the perception you got is biased by a personal conformism.

You ARE girls regarless so like it or not you are at least a tiny bit femenine like it or not, and even though if you do not "act girly" sometimes you do it more than you are aware of.

About logical and illogical the fact you may be an smart a.ss doesnt makes you logical, and the fact racx has a problem with a girl doesnt automatically gives anyone the power to asume that girl is an emotional freak, men are practical yes, but that fails to sink into  completly out of the loop into everything as well, they tend to miss a lot of things wheter they are obvious or not, i dont think is anyone to judge when its a matter of 2, its all about comunication and care.

Stop jumping ahead to conclusions I dont find it fair whatsoever (I AM a femenine girl who happens to enjoy it) and you start riping that thing off by a judgemental comment.

Of course I'm biased by my own perception, seeing as how my own perception is what I'm talking about.

then to speak as a whole could hurt others, specially if that others give a crap about what you say and about your 3 pages posts :P

Quote from: Jeysie on March 14, 2004, 04:21:45 AM
I just simply don't understand women the way I do men.

well good for you to claim such thing, I only claim I know myself lol, I dont actually think I know all girls or men, I always give space to doubt regardless.

Quote from: Jeysie on March 14, 2004, 04:21:45 AM

I'm sorry that troubles you, but while it may not be a fact for everybody, it is a fact for myself, and I'm not sure what you want me to say. (shrug) I could lie and say that "Yes, of course, my gal pals always make perfect sense to me!" but I doubt that's what you had in mind.

If I wanted a friend who would repeat everything I say I would just go buy a talking birdy. Its alright you speak up but keep in mind not everyone is like that, thats my point.

No offense, but I think it should be a given that I only speak for myself unless I specifically state otherwise... I mean, isn't that how most forum posts should be interpreted? Nobody else has to preface all their posts with "Well, this is just my own personal opinion, but..." why should it be required of only me? :P

And my "3 page" posts are just because I'm one, horribly long-winded, and two, tend to try to think about things to death. Besides, even with all that discourse people still misunderstand me all the time, so I doubt that condensing would help anyway. :P

I don't purposefully attempt to come off as giving the misconception of being supposedly authorative or whatever... my speech patterns are just naturally somewhat "formal-ish". And I tend to write even more "deliberately" than I speak, so the matter is just compounded online.

I'm reminded of when I wrote an essay in a college English class. It got a good grade, but the teacher noted on the paper that I didn't "have to use 'scholarly' language to impress him, I should just speak normally". A short while later I had occasion to speak to him about something, I forget what. At the end of the conversation, he said, "I wanted to apologize for the note I left on your essay. I thought you were using the 'voice' you used to try to sound pretentious, but now I realize you really do naturally talk like that." I'm still not sure whether I should take that as a compliment or a derogatory statement. :P

The only times I've ever stated such things were that it's because it was actually in the need to, I dont like getting serious or setting strict rules because I want to keep this place as a forum of many shades but in order to let you all come here and post whatever you feel like to I must tell you when to take it easy as well, and for you this isnt a first time I tell you this.

And if you come here to write a monologue for yourself then consider wheter you post it or not, because other people read it and this place is not a live journal, as a matter of fact is a topic that gathers everyone, if you post its most likely someone comes and reply about that topic.

Oh, poo. Maybe I should just state a few things for ya, Say, (and anyone else confuzzled) and give it a rest.

1. I'm long-winded. Always been that way, always will. Just try to bear with me. ;)

2. I always speak only for myself, unless I specifically state otherwise.

3. I treat everything as an "interesting to talk about, not necessarily important" matter unless I specifically state otherwise.

4. I always tend to speak rather "formally".

Maybe we should split (or delete :P ) all this so we can get back to pic-posting. I had planned on adding a new one...

*cralws from his corner where he was hiding and listening*

...Yes we want pics ; )

btw... I don't understand men nor woman nor myself though most men do seems most logic to me, followed by myself then most girls, but there are many exceptions ; ) hahaha....

anyway to contribute something ; ) ...overall woman are the more interesting conversation partners. Most friends I have are female cuz I can usally talk to them better then I can talk to men.... wait! ...I don't know if it's gender related...just my observation, but it is kinda weird though ; )

anyway the one I can talk best to is my best friend... who is male, so there goes my statement ; )

...forget what I said and just post some pic's ; )
