Idea stolen from uselessidguy331's topic about fave puzzle...but no need to sue for copyright infringement...I'm poor.

Here's some of mine!

KQ1 Beanstalk
KQ3 The maintain caves in Daventry
KQ4 Whale - damn that was annoying!
KQ4 Stairs to organ in mansion...'nuff said
KQ7 The darn firecraker (try doing that on a fast PC...the one time I'm THANKFUL you are allowed to continue from where you died!

All those path-walking puzzles are annoying... But I choose KQ4's whale. So irritating, you can't even see WHERE you're supposed to walk unless you use the debugging mode. I think I gave it up as impossible the first time I played it  :P

I didn't mind the KQ7 firecracker puzzle... I knew what I was supposed to do with it right away, and it let you keep playing from where you exploded... so just a couple of screens of clicking on death messages weren't going to break me  :D

TakariFreak - Why don't you make this a poll people can vote on?  ;)

Stairs to mansion were painful.

So righteous in our blood.
It looks so tarnished in our eyes,
Yet so afraid of...

Fading into nothing,
Fading into nothing.
Just a trace of light
That burns within our thoughts... "

Yeah, anything involving tricky and narrow paths was annoying.

For me it was avoiding those wantering dead people in KQ6.  I was following a walkthrough and the last time I saved was so far back!  Argh!  :P

Another issue was that IIRC, there wasn't even any clues that touching the dead people would kill you. Bleh. Dodging them wasn't hard for me... after surviving the mummy puzzle in GK1, this was a breeze. No, the hard part for me was dodging them long enough to figure out which edge of the screen was the freakin' exit. :P

Erm, usually you don't *want* to touch dead people... ;)
At any rate, they moved so slow I always got around them easily enough. ;)

Yeeeessss... but there's a big difference between, say,  touching a dead person and going "Like, ew, gross!" and touching a dead person and getting dissolved into a little puddle of flesh.

Heheh. Well, at least the ghosts don't bother anyone, thankfully. ;) And I'm sure you can infer that falling into *any* mysterious fast moving river, especially a green acrid one, is bad for your health. ;)

Well, anyone remotely versed in Greek mythology is going to know that touching the River Styx is a Bad Idea. (IIRC, touching the water of the River Styx *was* supposed to induce numbness, as it does in the KQ6 death scenes. At the very least, it was supposed to be an unhealthy thing to do.)

You should have learned that from playing KQ4  ;)

Oh, another annoyance...thsu Stupid River in KQ 5!  If you try to drink from it, you fall in and drown...the death message says somethign about a "mighty river".  Uh huh, yeah.  That river is REAL mighty, eh?

This was not a puzzle really, but I hated the Witch's House in KQ5.  I don't know why, but 9 times out of 10, I would fall into the fire-filled ravine when I walked toward the bridge.  That scream of Graham's is really annoying.

I also hated:
Mordack's Maze-KQ5
Tripping on Cat-KQ3
Manannan's Spell, that using the bookwords would cause you to die-KQ3
Getting by Lolotte's Guards-KQ4
Catacomb Tiles...until I figured them out-KQ6
Fire, Ruby Hammer and chisel and dragon scale...too much walking back and forth-KQ7

I stil love KQ to this day.

uselessidguy331

The worst puzzle of all is the copyright stuff in KQ5 that randomly pops up. It's idiotic. I hated the desert in KQ5 as well...without a map it was hard to get through, and I couldn't figure out how to hide behind the rocks from the bandits...until I was told that you just kinda stood beside them. That made me pretty mad.

I’d have to side with TakariFreak about the beanstalk in KQ1. In particular playing that part of the game through Sarien (http://sarien.sourceforge.net/) proved a major pain in the butt. Then again I vaguely remember an evil music puzzle in KQ VII.

Hrm... the most annoying puzzle in general (not KQ) would have to be the spiderweb in Beyond Atlantis. I took me ages to get past that stupid thing, even with a walkthrough. :P

The troll in the caves in KQ4.

It wasn't hard, but god, did it scare the hell out of me.

I've also rather disliked the cliffs of logic, it might be for the fact that my hand-eye coordination wasn't great back then... but most likely for the reason that I didn't have the handbook, and I called my friend who did and he just described the shapes for me -_-;;

The exploding rocks in KQ 2 becase I didn't fully read the puzzle clue about the 2nd rock from the right..

I got killed +7 times  :suffer:

Questing Character

-KQ1 beanstalk
-KQ4 troll
-KQ4 getting by the henchmen
-KQ7 that damn harp!!
