It's only Sunday, dearie... most people don't have b****-worthy stuff until they get to their jobs. Well, I don't anyway. ::) You could always announce the BOTW for last week! :D

Anyhoo. I do want to b**** about the forum. I'm having major problems with it taking forever to connect to pages again. :bomb: :stabs:

Yes, during the night from Saturday to Sunday my browser also had time-outs in abundance when trying to load certain pages of the Quiz-thread. :furious:
More work-related b.itching will probably resume tomorrow. (and tomorrow=Tuesday overhere now).

Ok, I have a multi-part b.itch today....

Part I.
People who ignore you.  Say, for example, somebody comes back from being away on AIM.  You send them an IM all "Hi!" and they say "hi" and then you ask "What's up?" and then an hour and 10 minutes later THEY STILL HAVEN'T ANSWERED!!!!  RAH!

Part II.
People who treat you like a moron.  Thank you mother.  I had forgotten what I do every damn night.
That is all.

Part III.
People who are a*******.  Especially 31 year old a******* who, in the majority of their "romantic relationships", never met their "girlfriend" because it was over the Internet, and then they proceed to pass judgement over me because I haven't had any romantic relationships at all (at age 17--and he knows how old I am).

Part IV.
GUIDANCE!  Yesterday, I filled out a freaking card saying I wanted to meet with my guidance counsellor, because--as usual--he wasn't available when I had time to go to the guidance office.  The usual, proper response to one of those cards is to call someone out of class to see them.  Did I get called down? NO.  RAH!

There was a Part V, but I forgot it. ;D

AAAAARRRGGGHHH!! Why won't you work, you stupid useless shipping website that I would call lots of foul, nasty insults and curses if I wasn't in public, SO I CAN GET MY WORK DONE!!

Peace & Luv, Liz :P

I can't seem to talk to anybody any more without them misinterpreting what I say and having them get mad at me.

I have another b.itch!!

I'm b.itching about myself.  I'm a FREAKING MORON!  I can't talk to the girl I like, *STILL*.  I set aside ALL of yesterday for it.  Our "conversation" was me walking near her, meekly and softly saying hi and not being heard because she was talking to somebody else. ::) Yeah, I rock.

The network connection was fairly stable from Monday-Thursday but today...
- Bookkeeping program crashed
- M$ Outlook crashed
- Network shares were unavailable

In fact, thet nwetwork was completely down, and this time, it wasn't only in our office container, but another financial colleague, who was located in the' old' office-building. suffered the same fate. Then, many monutes later (at least half on hour), the network was back on-line, but we still couldn't get into our bookkeeping program. Pinged server(s), got answer, tried direct access to database, that worked too, rebooted, still nothing...Bear in mind there's some kind of service running on another pc that serves as an in-between between the clients and the server. The department head called the ICT-guy who's actually not that bright on ICT matters, who asked if I had tried rebooting. :furious: What does he think, I'm an ICT-moron? So, a little while later I got a call from another ICT-guy, who's somewhat brighter, and I explained to him he should try re-starting the service. However, he said he was going to re-boot the pc, to be sure, and another few minutes later everything was fixed. There was one good side to this black-out, at least we had time to prepare for our upcoming move next TUesday to the new office building.

How often do you spend half a day preparing first, Jason?

CC, for the first two weeks of school no one could log onto the network at all.  Now we can all log on--but we can't use any programs because none of them work!  YAY MY SCHOOL! :P

This doesnt really answer the question, but if i really liked a girl it wouldnt matter how long i prepared for it because i would stuff it up anyway :-\, i have done it before :(

You fellows have this odd tendency to treat women like they're mysterious and magical objects.

Treat a girl that you like just as you would any person you were going to talk to for the first time to befriend them, and you'll do fine. Your goal isn't to get her to fall all over you in worship from the first glance (yes, I know you'd all love that to happen), it's just simply to let her know you exist and you'd be interested in being able to hang out with her. If you're caught up in wanting to badly impress her, and worried that she'll hate you forever from first glance, then no wonder you're all nervous!

I know you have lady friends, Questie... just talk to that girl the way you did to your pals when you first met them. The time to move towards romance is *after* you're already comfortable talking to her, so don't sweat it. :)

More b.itching from me:
On moving day this week we had to wait half a day before we could get to work in our new offices, due to the slowness of the movers. Then, since we moved in, we've had a painter painting while we worked and we've had  a visit from people removing some foil from the climate-control outlets. There's a door missing to the department head's office. At least his pyhsical distance to our office has now become an obstacle to bother us by standing behind your back looking at what you're doing too much. :P More on moving day, the network cables took ages to arrive, luckily I took mine with my in my laptop carrying bag. I didn't take the network cable for the printers though, which took even longer than the pc's (dekstops). The fax that moved with us is located on the other side of the floor, which means if we want to fax something, we have to walk. And yet, the copying machine is on our side of the floor, which means the people from the HRM-deparment will have to take a walk when they want to copy something. ::)

And the biggest b.b**** of them all is the fact someone is playing political games far above my head and I do not like what they're concocting. :stabs: bomb: :furious:

Yesterday was clearly not a good day at this house. You see, I had internet connectivity problems, no matter what I tried, Linux refused to come up with anything useful. My brother installed a router yesterday afternoon, and told me to delete the previous gateway (the fileserver's IP-address). However, I never configured any gateway whilst setting up Linux, at least not that I can remember, so I figured I'd just start it up and see what IP-number it came up with. ANd lo, behold, there was an IP-number, in the updated range, messengers connected, mail came in, all seemed OK.... :pleased:
But then, I tried to send an e-mail. TB tried and kept trying, but eventually told me it wouldn't connect to my smtp-server, and asked if I could take a look at the settings. So, I told my brotherI had problems, and after a while he suggested I updated my IP-adress to another range. I don't know how to update an IP-address in Linux yet, so I just rebooted. And whilst booting, I saw it acquired a new IP-address, this time in the right adjusted range, so I though my problems would be over.  :stop: No such luck though, messenger couldn't connect and took ages to maximize, mail still couldn't be sent. So I went re-configuring. Try this, try that, try something else, yet another setting, but to no avail. So I thought, let's try Windows! It got an IP-address in the updated range too, but slightly different from the one Linux had, and more importantly, it worked. So, I thought, since it just worked in Windows, maybe that will somehow seep through to the Linux-partition and so when I reboot that it will come out fine. :furious: This time I didn't even get an IP-address!, and when I finally gave up I noticed I seemed to have changed my profile somehow so I couldn't shutdown anymore. So, cancel that, and re-reconfigure again. Ofcourse a profile is loaded at startup, so I still had to logout first. And then, when I tried to login again, the connection between my keyboard and pc seemed to have vanished again. (something I've encountered before) Luckily, there were options available on the login-window, and one of them was to shut down, so I just did that.

I had a nice little laptop from work, and I was given enough clearance to do just that little bit more normal users can't do (such as installaing new codecs for my media player, browser plugins, and moving sound files of my own into the media-folder within c:\winnt. Life was sweet and quiet. ;)
Due to several people asking me for a pdf-version of a certain financial document I could only print on paper, the ICT department was asked if they could install a pdf-printer. At that point, I also still had a VPN-client but had already been warned it would be deleted at the next occasion. So, they asked if I could bring in the laptop to the ICT-department, to 'verify its functionalities'. When I read that, I knew that was going to happen when I brought it in, so I alerted my two closest colleagues, that the VPN-end was near. So, I expected that. What I did not expect, was that he would also downgrade my profile to that of a normal user! :furious:  And the best/worst part of all this is: a) he didn't fix the windowed splash startup-screen and b) he didn't do anything about the battery. The problem about the battery is a) it's worn down and b) it goes into suspend mode without the least bit of auditive warning, at most a small visual warning, the LED-battery status indicator. However, I don't look at that LED, I look at the screen, where there's absolutely no warning whatsoever. When I then plug it into the electricity, I can get the message warning me of low battery level twice, and a few seconds afterwards, I get the 'beep' that should have been there at least together with the warning message. In short, my laptop is completely going down the deep end and what does the ICT-department do about that? Nothing! :furious:
