Getting yelled at by your boss/ teacher is always a good thing to experience for the first time over and over again. ;)

Quote from: B'rrr on October 18, 2004, 03:03:45 PMheee... I forget things all the time ; ), it's nice though, you can experience 'new' things over and over again  :P
Unfortunately for me, sometimes some things tend to keep lingering around in my memory in order to, when I see/hear/... it again, react by letting me know I've seen/heard/... that before. :-\

A boss/teacher doesn't need to yell to show his/her authority over you. And trust me, I know from experience. :X

If you look at the company policy, I'm hardly ever on time, but my boss doesn't yell at me for that, after all, I am present/work for the prescribed period, meaning I stay a little longer in the evening. However, when I have a meeting  starting at a time sooner than when I normally arrive, I change that day's schedule accordingly, so I still arrive on time (barring accidents ofcourse). And besides, if it's really important, I keep a written record about it on my work-laptop's Outlook client, with an alarm attached to it. :scholar:

Bookkeeping, sometimes also known as accounting, but overhere that's a different profession. I'm also part of the leadership of the financial department. 8)

No need for that. The only one at work who calls me by my last name only, preceded by 'Mister' is the CEO of the company. And ofcourse, sometimes in letters addressed to me, but other than that, I'm on a first name base (?) with everyone. 8)

I think its first name basis, but I'm not sure.

When I look at the word 'basis' I see a Dutch/Flemish word, so I translate it to something more English sounding, hence the 'base'.

I wasn't talking about pronounciation, and even there the only difference I hear is at the end, because the Dutch/Flemish-looking word's longer. ;D

What exactly are you looking for support for? 'Cause I don't know about you, but where I'm from "Mary jane" is a euphemism for marijuana....  ???
