WOOHOO! I'm very excited about this! Soon everyone can see why Episode 3 is the best episode yet! Amazing music, even deeper plot than before, great puzzles (I got stumped for a while myself. I have to keep asking the team for hints), and oh so much more!

That they do! So far, Episode 3 is my favorite. But before episode 3, it was 2. I'm sure 4 and 5 will have their time as my favorites as well.

I'm with dark-daventry on this one.  Episode 3 is hands down my favorite, and has elicited true emotional responses from me and some of the rest of the team.   Manly tears, I assure you. [seriously, I've cried over this Episode]

I look forward to the coming months when we get into Episodes 4 and 5, and I hope you're all looking forward to it as well!

Episode 3 has been my favorite so far as well. Everyone has out done themselves this time and I am very proud of them. *hugs to the team*

MusicallyInspired

Yep. According to the trailer it's going exactly in the direction I was told a long time ago and where I hoped it wouldn't. I just hope ActiVision considers this fan fiction and not actually canon. Not all fans are a fan of this type of game. To me personally, this is exactly the same problem that happened to adventure games after the millennium when The Adventure Company took them in a direction that was completely off the mark of what classic adventures were.

Still, don't get me wrong. It's very well done and is coming together nicely. Everyone's done a great job for what it is. You're halfway through finishing this project that's struggled to see the light of day for 8 years or so. It's just a shame that classic adventures really do have no place anymore in the game industry. Telltale has all but left the classic approach behind by making their games dirt easy and their characters flat and shallow and TSL with its incessant mellowdrama. I think I have more fun playing something like Heavy Rain or even Half-Life as opposed to what "true" adventures have become nowadays. I'm sorry to see it happen this way but what can you do?

Again, I'm not bashing the game. Everyone has done amazing work and I applaud you. I'm just saying it's not my cup of tea and wasn't what I was hoping it'd be. Yes, I've said that before, but I was hoping for some kind of change (or at least confirmation that I was wrong in some way) between then and now. Obviously that's not happening.

TSL could definitely scale back the melodrama. Some of the conversations are simply too long, in my opinion, and seem to be at odds with the spirit of the KQ canon.

However, there is still a good amount of puzzle-solving and adventuring in Episode 3 that is independent of the game's style. It may not be in the classic adventure style, but nevertheless it is a good adventure, encompassing many lands, characters, and items. So you may yet get some enjoyment from Episode 3. Reserve your judgement for until you finish the episode.

I get what Musicallyinspired is saying and its true, im at Other Forums and they have No Clue what a Sierra Game is, nor KQ.  ??? ??? ???

Sslaxx

The problem is that Sierra themselves were very much moving away from the "traditional" graphical adventure themselves going by Mask of Eternity. Anyway, there's a few commercial adventure devs out there - most prominently, Wadjet Eye Games - so although you're not going to find their games in the store to say "classic adventures really do have no place anymore in the game industry" is not entirely accurate either. They're certainly not mainstream game store items, though (although that's not entirely true globally, either).

As for the TSL melodrama, it's fine. It does give the impression of the game being slow to get going (especially part 1), though.

C'mon, the melodrama is the best part of any King's Quest game!  Those are the LOL parts while you're playing. :D
