Lol. When I say mellowdrama I mean the overall tone of the story and the direction it's going in. And as far as puzzles are concerned, they mean nothing if the story isn't interesting (or if you're morally opposed to it ). Still, I will play it. If it ever gets to work on my computer...maybe after I upgrade in a month or two.

Mellowdrama is kind of an amusing concept. You have a bunch of drama going on, but everybody's relaxed about it.

If you think about it, the royal family has been through a lot so for them to react a certain way to the things they do, it's not melodramatic at all. It only comes off as melodrama because the circumstances are so unrealistic + the character's reactions are so strong (although this is sometimes due in part to overacting in the voice overs). Kings Quest 6 + 7 certainly swayed in this direction more, so I don't mind that much that TSL is picking up on it. It's pretty standard for King's Quest in my opinion.

This is exactly right.  The trailer looks melodramatic to the max.  Does that bother me?  Not necessarily.  At this point, I'm just going with it.  The thing about melodramatic movies and games is that it's so easy for them to cross over into hokey and unintentionally comical if not handled just right.  When it appears like the game takes its subject matter SOO seriously, then shortcomings in voice acting and writing seem all the more awkward and pronounced.

Also, just thought I'd add that I think the cinematography and music in the trailer is awesome, as it was in the earlier episodes.

  OMG I'M SO BRAIN DEAD! This is what I get for writing that at 12:30 AM. Though I have had a very stressful day, so that certainly contributes. If only my car didn't decide to conk out on me right as I decided to drive home. Luckily, I was in a parking garage, so no damage done. But now I have to get my car serviced... And I have to get tutoring for at least one of my classes, if not more, and... and... *heart attack*

Phew. Long day. about to end. And now to fix mah grammah errahs!
