Yes, it's a QFG style game and they might be very nice, but I hardly see any movement on that front. Just for the example's sake, I've heard that AGD1 and AGD2 (from AGDI) met on the Hero6 project... together they've already managed to finish about 2.5 games (not counting "Royal Quest") and the Hero6 project still haven't been completed.

KQ9: Yes, it's a KQ style game and AGDIs admitted that KQ-games are much easier to make than QfG.  AGD1 and AGD2 (from AGDI) already managed to finish about 2.5 games (not counting "Royal Quest") and the KQ9 project still haven't been completed.

Welcome to the forums Gronager!!

AGDI may have completed 2.5 games, but those games weren't 3D or (entirely) original.  Those games would take less time.  Besides, the AGS engine was already made and they already knew how to use it, or so I gather.
Wow, didn't I sound smart.  I said "AGS engine".  I don't think I've ever done that before. XB I'm becoming more tech-y all the time!!

My vote goes for Hero6! Of course, I as well am biased  :D

The main reason why Hero6 seems to move slower then these other games is because everything had to be created from scratch. The engine, the plot, the dialogues, eeeeeverything. When recreating a pre-existing game, you know exactly what needs to be done. Not so for an original game. I agree with Pwincess that if everyone saw what we had, they would be quite stunned, and exceptionally pleased. And although we haven't released a real demo in years, don't think that our progress halted at that point. It was just decided that we should hold off on demo's for a while.

Questing Character

Dude.....your avatar is CRAZY cool!!
And I'm glad to hear the Hero6 is alive and progressing well, I'm looking forward to that as well!

Wow!  Welcome to all the newcomers!  !!!

I know exactly what you mean Pwincess by there being major progress on the game, but from an outsider's point of view, it looks like it's just been stagnant since the last site update.  However, I am very pleased that you guys are here and are able to give us an update on Hero6's progress!  :)

I'll be sure to sign up at the Hero6 forums once that poll is up, even though you already know where my vote's going. ;)  Also, if you guys ever want to promote something major about Hero6 here, feel free to contact either myself or my director, Say.  8)

Hiya. :)

Just a question. What would be your exact date for the birth of KQ9? The first post we've had was 19 May 2002:

Just curious. I didn't read the other threads yet, but your birthday should be coming up soon?

I believe kq9.org was created on May 15th, 2002.  The oldest post in this forum is sometime in June though. :)  I'll post the link if I can find it.

And here it is!  :D  June 9, 2002: http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?board=24;action=display;threadid=395

First of all, I didn't mean to criticize Hero6 or to imply it wasn't making any progress. I'm sure there are many good reasons why AGDI's games took less time to make than Hero6, but the most predominant one seems to be the way the project is organized. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that - it's just done in a different way.

Secondly, KQ9 is a far more ambitious project than Hero6... I don't think there's much point in comparing their production time  :-\

If I could find the time I would have to say Hero6. Who knows maybe one day I'll find the time and try to do some art work for them or something.

How so? 3D? Heh... you got to be kidding. Once the engin is done the art shouldn't take you more than a month. All of our art are drawn by hand. Every frame of every animation have to be drawn. 3D is a easy way to get out of all the work. For example: We quickly created a 3D animation of the hero walking to see what the 2D animation should be like. It took our 3D animator an hour or so. To get the hero to walk in 2D can take up to 3 weeks non-stop. Above you've mentioned how your game is completely original. So, other than 2D, how is Hero6 any different?

Ok. I'm not against KQ9. In fact, I've joined your forums 2 years ago!! I wanted to cheer you guys on!

But Storm... you've always had something against Hero6... even at AGDI's forums. Why? Did we reject your application to join??

Say

Lol, dont worry Groganor, but I dont think Storm meant things in a bad way anyways, and I must add to this (to what I understood from her post :P):

1.- I do respect a lot Hero6 project, and of course their staff, I even expressed how much I like it before myself and I think Storm's point is the fact that we are different nothing more and nothing less :D

2.- I think the "there is no compare" goes in the sense that we've handled the coordination and operations in different ways, again not compare for bette or worse, its just a general statement :) we are also very different from AGDI.

3.- I've known Storm for quite a while now and I do think if she had something "against" to say she would have said so already lol :P (have you seen how she talks about MOE? lol :P when she dislikes she does it with passion hahaha)

Anyhow, regardless what ppl may think kq9 team appreciates the support and of course would like to return such. Storm is one of our favorite members around here, she's a good girl ;-D we <3 her, and I dont think she meant things in a wrong way :)
