Finally released - review here   :D

Great game, reminds me a bit of Westwood's Bladerunner and LucasArts' The Dig.

I played a little today :D I've been looking forward to it for weeks (or is it months?) so it's nice to be able to play at last.

WARNING: This post doesn't contain story spoilers, but it does contain descriptions of the game, so... I guess if you've not played the first two hours or so, you might not want to read this? Although, chances are, if you've not played that far but plan to you'd probably be playing right now...

Anyway, yes, I think there's definitely a Bladerunner vibe. I just finished a section where you have to analyse an image with a grid overlay by zooming in to the sound of a beeping machine - VERY reminiscent of the Westwood game XD

The art is fantastic. The puzzles so far are not really hard, but they feel very natural: I feel less like I'm playing an adventure game and more like I'm inhabiting these characters, which in my book is a very good thing.

My only gripe thus far is the voice acting. :( It's nice to have it, and some of it's perfect, but... well, some of it isn't. I think a lot of the time the voice actors just get the tone wrong. At one point, Azriel was exchanging small talk with a friend and said "How many kid's have you got now? Three?" The way the actor phrased it, it sounded like Azriel was sneering. But the guy's reaction suggested that actually the line should have been played with friendly curiosity. Also, while I can kind of ignore that sort of slip, there's one character who is voiced to be a complete jerk, but it's all in his tone: if the game had no voice acting I think I'd consider him a possible ally (albeit one to watch), whereas right now I think he's just a manipulative character who wants to seem like a possible ally.

But the voice acting is the only aspect which is of questionable quality; the rest is absolutely top notch. The puzzles, artwork and music are excellent, and the brief shooting sequences feel both exciting and puzzle-y, so that's another plus. Everyone really should at least watch the trailer and try the demo.
