I... missed alot of episodes cause I was joining my friends for Sci-fi nights. Back then it was hard to follow cause I was new to sci-fi. I'm part of Rovers (Scouting), so I'm busy some weekends doing service, camps or what not so I have gaps. I'm more familier with Babylon 5, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dr Who, and a few others. I missed alot of Stargate.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer... What an amazing show. I'm only on season 4 or 5, but it's awesome so far.

Oh- apparently there isn't much more good after that. It gets dark fast in season 6 apparently.

Dumbledore dies.

No, seriously. Apparently Dark Willow is cool, and the Singalong is cool, but the rest is depressing. So I'm informed. I trust my informants judgement and left Buffy on a high note.

I LOVE Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And I personally think Season 6 is still great; it took some risks, not everyone liked it, but I really do. Season 7 was okay...very uneven, unfortunately. As was the Season 8 comic. But overall, I love Buffy and if you're going to watch it, watch all of it, absolutely. :)

Are you going to read the season 9 comic? I'm still only on season 4 (I've been so caught up with school that I haven't had time to catch up on Buffy, or any other show for that matter), but it's awesome so far. Though I'm missing Buffy being in High School.

Season 4, IMO, was the weakest season. And yes, I'll definitely still be reading the comic for Season 9. S8 was uneven, but they also acknowledged that they got away from what really makes Buffy awesome.

Also, we should split this stuff off into a Buffy thread at this point I think :) Mind doing that, DD?

Oh my gosh, Buffy! :vampire: I only watched it the first couple seasons, but I have a friend whose favorite show still is and always WILL be Buffy.  She is seriously obsessed with it--she watched it from its first ever episode till the bitter end, and has every season on DVD (which she still watches.)

My favorite episode is the one called "Hush."  It's that freaky one with no talking, with The Gentlemen who steal people's voices and glide around and kill people.  Ugh.  Gave me nightmares!

Oh, I've got the box set of all seven seasons of Buffy, the box set of all five season of Angel, all issues of the Season 8 comic, and I played in a Buffy-based RPG for about five years (which has transitioned to an online RP instead of a pen & paper one at this point). I'm a big ol' fan :) (And a big Whedon fan in general!)

Hush was great. Well, hell, several episodes were great. Just fantastic accomplishments. I love the musical episode "Once More With Feeling." The trend of which is still carrying through today! (Which baffles me in some cases--how is Grey's Anatomy going to be pulling off a musical episode, seriously??)

I've watched part of Angel, but I need to start watching more of it. The problem is trying to find the correct order; both Buffy and Angel overlap several times in the fourth and first seasons respectively. Trying to find the correct order is pretty hard to do.

When I first saw Hush I thought it was Netflix going all screwy on me (I watch the series through instant streaming, and Netflix has on occasion "forgotten" the audio track for their videos, which pretty much makes them unwatchable). I was convinced for a bit that the audio track just got messed up. It later dawned on me that the whole point of the episode was that there was no sound.

I'm a Joss Whedon fan to the end. I'm likely to watch everything that his name is attached to. I love him. I worship him.

What?! I haven't watched last week's Grey's yet (so I haven't seen this week's previews) but seriously, what?!

 I love to watch Grey's, but I like to pretend it takes place in a Twilight Zone of Seattle.  Psh.  Singing surgeons?  Drinking "mocha-lattes?"  Climbing "Mount RAY-neer?"  GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

The storylines don't overlap so much that you should be getting lost while watching them. The big ones are in the first season of Angel and the 4th season of Buffy. It''s...oh hey! It's listed in this wiki article! :)

The ones in S4/S1 are really the only ones that directly crossover. For the most part, you're fine not worrying about it.

That's good to know; it was getting confusing. If I watch one of those out of order, I'm screwed XD

LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Buffy.

Season 7 was the weakest (I haven't read the comics) but still was pretty incredible.

I liked Angel a LOT better, although I felt they rushed the end of the series. Like, they should have made Illyria the season baddie and had another season to do the whole "ending" story arc. Would have been much better.

Really?  I thought Season 6 was the weakest.  That entire season just seemed like filler, though I love the musical episode.  Actually, Season 7 and 5 were my favorites.

I've only seen bits and pieces of Angel, though what I have seen makes me want to see the rest.

Actually, I found out about a show that's an "ancient" form of Buffy: She-Wolf of London, at least until the end when it became a bit...  Here's a review/synopsis:

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
I have my cake and eat it too, until it's gone.  Then I can't do either.

Aww!  You have the Sword of Hugging +3!  All of your attacks deal affectionate damage!

crayauchtin

I think that She-Wolf of London show is a really good concept but it obviously needs to be done by people with, y'know, skilll at.... writing, directing, acting....

That's what should be getting rebooted, *not* Buffy.

Ugh. The Buffy reboot. Grrr.

****

Worth noting, though, since that's a very similar situation to the KQ "reboot" by Telltale--the original creator of Buffy is still around and active in the industry. He's even still making stories ABOUT Buffy, albeit in comic form now. With that, there's no reason to not involve him if it's going to happen, or to even do it to begin with since the TV series ended LESS than ten years ago.

Just an FYI; Joss Whedon actually declined an offer to help out with the Buffy reboot I think. Although I'm mad that he's not involved, from my recollection, he declined the opportunity to work on it. That being said, what they should be doing is bringing the TV show back with the same actors and writers. There should not, in any way, shape or form, be a film reboot of such a fantastic show that, as katie said, ended not even 10 years ago.

Do you have a source on that? I'm pretty sure he didn't, and I check some Whedon-news-related sites fairly often, but it's possible I missed something.

I can see why having the original actors would be very problematic at this point--a lot of them are too old, busy elsewhere, not interested, etc. But again--there's no need to reboot the series, much less this soon.

I agree. I don't have a source readily available. I'll do some digging for it soon. I may be incorrect. If I am, I'll readily admit to it.
