Oh no- don't get me wrong. We have broad band. It's NOTHING to the speed of America, Japan and all the more developed countries. We get alot of technology first cause we're big enough to count, but small enough not to care about, but anything like internet or DS games or anything cool that puts availability over performance, you guys get it first. We get stuff that has to be tested on the market first. Like, we had telephones on our motorways for 5 years before America did. We had pin numbers on our eftpos a good 5 years before Australia (I know it's ATLEAST that cause I've never used signature in NZ the whole time I've had VISA, yet Austalia had only recently- last 3 years? adopted pin numbers. It's like O.o ). We had the Lincoln V145 for 4 years before Australia saw it. We ironed out ALL the issues with it. NZ lost confidence in the machine in the mean time, and Australia is getting it all shinny and polished :/ I'm not sure what's up with it, but we've had WPA the whole time we've had broad band, and I had to downgrade the security of our internet to use my DS on the internet, so I can only assume that American hasn't had password protected internet for that long and has been running WEP till the last... 5 years? I donno. That's a guess. I can't tell where we're ahead of you cause it's everyday life to me.
I'm not sure why we are advanced to you in some ways, and behind on others. I suspect Telecom didn't want to upgrade all our telephones. We're getting an upgrade in the higher developed areas, but West harbour people don't use broad band cause it's dial up speed. Kumeu isn't too bad. I'm just happy I can talk to people overseas at all. Before internet ( O.o OLD ) I use to just draw in my free time. Now I have access to SO many things! I think any speed is great
