I loved playing this game.  I'm on my second go 'round since I realized how much I missed, especially in Tomorrow City.

I think this game had a very good storyline to it.  It was challenging at parts too, though not the longest adventure game out there.  Probably closer to a 30 hour game rather than say the ones that are 90+.  It's fun to see all of the references to older Disney characters and attractions put together in a way that seems just slightly 'off.'

Admittedly, there were some flaws to it.  The camera at times got stuck in weird angles that made the level more difficult.  And some though the game would be darker than it was.  It's not dark in a an adult way, but I think at times it's not as happy as a typical Disney story.

But all in all, I really enjoyed it.

Haven't played yet, but I'm very curious.  I saw it at Target last weekend and was considering it...but I wanted to read more about it before giving into the hard-earned $50 price tag. ;)

You can get it discounted on Amazon.  The collector's edition right now is actually cheaper than just the game itself.

I got the game as a gift, but yeah, it is still $50 most places.  What price were you maybe looking to pay?

Haids1987

Oh, I don't really know.  Maybe $30?  I'm usually one of those peeps that waits until things are a year or two old before buying. :)

The back of it reminded me of Kingdom Hearts.  Is it at all like it?

Doubtful. For one, there's no painting in Kingdom Hearts. Also, Kingdom Hearts is more of an RPG. Epic Mickey is more of a platformer than anything else.

Ah.  Well, it still looks cool.  I'll probably buy it in a few years. :P

Maybe you can get it used cheaper.  Worth a shot.  :)

I do agree with Dark Daventry that game play wise, it's not like Kingdom Hearts.  You have Mickey with the brush and its paint, thinner and spin attacks.  That's really it.  No magic or anything like that.

But - I will say it is a bit like Kingdom Hearts in the sense that each world is based on Disney attractions and films.  Most of them are old Disney shorts, but there references to Tron and Peter Pan and such.

The Wasteland is basically a dark Disneyland.  You go through warped versions of It's a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion, Sleeping Beauty's castle, Toon Town, Main Street and Tomorrow Land.  It's kinda fun to see how they put together these worlds as there are references to long gone attractions in addition to the familiar staples of the park.

For what it's worth, Kingdom Hearts has more than just Disney worlds, though the Disney one's are the most prevalent.

Oh that's definitely true.  But all I meant was, there was that bit of comparison that you can make between the two games - the inspiration of lands from Disney films and such.

I do realize I said 'each world' but that's more true of Epic Mickey than Kingdom Hearts.  In Kingdom Hearts, you're right - some worlds aren't directly Disney based.  But Epic Mickey's worlds are very much Disney inspired throughout the game.

Of course they are; for one, it stars Disney's most famous character and mascot, Mickey Mouse. Kingdom Hearts was also only published by Disney; to my knowledge, they had little to do with the development of the game itself, other than letting Square Enix use it's characters and properties.

I think you're right too.  I think basically Disney only published and promoted the Kingdom Hearts game while Square Soft/Enix did all the actual programming and such.

Epic Mickey notes it was worked on by Junction Point, but Disney owns them as well.

It remind me of the classic mickey mouse games.
