So, there is supposed to be a total lunar eclipse today/tomorrow (depending on your timezone) which should be visible from eastern Africa to western Australia, weather permitting.  I'll try to see it if it's not too cloudy.  Is anyone else going to try to see it?

EDIT: Yes, I know most of the people here are in North America or Europe ... but you never know...

So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

Yeah, that is awesome.

What was not so awesome was the weather.  When I first went out to look, even though there were clouds, I could see the moon through the clouds.  It was a cool effect.  It looked like it was a crescent moon, but since I had seen a full moon earlier yesterday evening, I knew it was really an eclipse.  Then the clouds got thicker.  Darn.

I love Astronomy! I do it everyday now for a job. Mostly I am studying hydrogen in distant galaxies but every now and then I get to research the sun and moon. :)
