B'rrr

:o :o sientists are sience-intelligent!! ...and they are creative too!! ; ) ...I mean, perhaps not art-creative (although they might)

...but they are creative, creative in their thinking... they have to, in order to invent new things and come up with new solutions

... ughh, I mean, i consider myself creative in my line of work... I won't try drawing and such, cuz i can't, but I am creative in my thinking though  ;] ....at least, i think i am ; )

QuoteThere's an underground war between engineers and artsy fartsy folk.

I'm starting to think it's more of a love/hate relationship actually. Apparently all the engineering guys like arts girls better (I don't get why - someone want to shed some light on that for me ???), and I've been told the best place to look for guys is in the engineering department. Seriously.

Not that I've ever tested this theory. Having to walk all the way over to the opposite side of the campus is far more effort than I'm ever prepared to put into a relationship ;P. Possibly why I'm perpetually single. Ah well. :)

Yonkey

Haha, the Arts building is on the other side of campus here too.  Interesting... ;P

Anyway, there aren't that many girls in Engineering (with the exception of Chemical Engineering which seems to have a lot more than the other ones in my school at least).  So, the few girls that are here... well let's just say that there are way better ones in Art. ;P

And when I took my electives, I've had courses with way more of an even distribution of girls.  They all seemed to be way better looking than the Engineering ones.  ;D  Well, that's not to say that all the Engineering ones are fugly, they just mostly aren't my type, per se.  ;)

Hahahahahaha! All that side-stepping must keep you very fit ;P. Tread carefully, Yonkey, I know many attrctive female engineers :)

I'd agree though. Male/female split in arts and law is skewed in favour of the girls, and most of the guys in my courses are so alike in intellectual interests, etc. that I'd never really want to start a relationship. If, (IF, mind you :P) I wanted a boyfriend I'd probably go for someone different to me - like engineering, where (presumably) there is also a larger proprtion of single males.

No, no, no....someone has my heart right now.

And you'd also have to fight off koko.  She's all over me like white on rice! :D

*reads her previous post*

Sorry. Unless I've typed something in an invisible font that you can read and I can't, I don't see "J-ROC! I'm madly obsessed with you! Are you single?" ;P. Also, you might want to check my profile. I'm 18 - eight years younger than you. That's practically pedophelia :-X

Thanks for the gracious offer, Koko, but I'll decline.

Hrm...I don't recall suggesting you said that either.  I would moreso call it "dropping you a hint".  Funny how it was also in the form of a "joke".  I guess those little smileys can be a bit deceiving!

As for the age thing, I could bring up the legal standpoint, completely ignoring the moral standpoint.  But I'm not THAT sleazy.  My rule is half my age + 7.  So that makes 20 my minimum age.

No worries youngin', your precious self is safe from big bad Jimbo.

Haha. Sorry J-ROC. That last post was pretty mean ;]. I was only joking with you though. Good to know I have nothing to fear :D

J-ROC

Yeah, the only person who should fear me here is Racx.  *cracks knuckles*

As for you joking, yeah, it's hard to tell with new folk.  I tell ya, if I had a dime for every time I upset someone when I was just joking, I wouldn't be "unemployed" right now, I'd be "retired". :D

It's all good.

Awww...how sweet...now all they have to do is kiss and make up...but wait...that's outside James' age limit...well, I guess no kisses...

*now if only I can convince Internet Jason that kissing him is illegal*

Again, very sorry J-ROC. I have that problem too. My greatest talent is being able to pull off a sarcastic remark with a completly sincere expression, which isn't as useful as it sounds. I inadvertently end up making my friends hate me :-[. I should really stop doing it.

Oh, I don't do the sarcasm with a straight face...I do the sarcasm with a very disgruntled look on my face.  My unpleasant side knows no moderation. :-/  Also not a good thing...unless you like burning bridges. :(

Hahah, I have to agree with Jael.  I'd rather go out with someone completely different than me than someone way too similar (even worse, someone I've been competing with for the past 3 years).  Also, there are some really attractive girls in engineering too, but probably from the intellectual & personality standpoint, they're not my type.  Also, I've only noticed this in university.  In high school it was almost the complete opposite.  :o

I wish I could say that looks don't matter, nor intelligence or personality; but the truth is the girl has to have a good quantity of all of the above or she's not my type.  ;B

By the way, that's my opinion in general and not specific to girls in Art, Engineering or any discipline.  XD
