Quest for glory 5 runtime error Help!!!

Ok i now need help on Quest for Glory 5 when fighting the dragon when it breaths the fire on me i get a runtime error.
i am using vista premium. i installed the game using the QFG5Setup from the sierra help board. I even installed the microsoft c++ 2010 real time error fix.

i tried turning off the sounds in the game control which i read on other boards should fix this but it didn't.

Did you try on the Sierra Help Forums?  That's probably the best place online to get help with technical issues on these older games.

I think basically the quicker you kill the dragon the better chance of avoiding the problem. Use plenty of potions and just grind away. Also make sure your Helpers had Ezra health items before you start so they have a better chance at surviving.

This isn't a perfect fix, but it's worth trying. Also make sure to have several saves before starting the fight or entering the area. Lower the chance of one of them being a corrupted save (if that's causing the problem.).
