People who have read most of my posts will know that most of them are about the "scary" parts of KQ games. I don't know why, I just seem to like getting scared in games. So...post your scariest game everyone. Mine is probably Phantasmagoria, because I've never played Resident Evil, Silent Hill, etc. I'd like to hear some other opinions though.

Fading into nothing.
Just a trace of light
That burns within our thoughts... "

I don't play many games so I can't really comment here.  But I do share the like getting scared things in movies.  I think the "scariest" movie that I've seen is "What Lies Beneath".  <3

There were a lot more that creeped me out when I was little, but I don't remember the names of them.  I think one was called "Eva" but I have no idea if that was a TV movie or what.  All I remember is the "Eeeeevvvaaaaa" said in it, and I think she was a demon that possessed a female. ;D

I don't think I've ever been truly scared by a game... but I was definitely creeped out by Sanitarium and Gabriel Knight 1 & 2. Plus points for the "End Boss" encounter in Fallout, although the rest of the game was only moderately creepy.

Yeah, not necessarily "scary," but games that make you jump or creep you out. I don't think really gory or slasher movies are scary...truely scary movies are ones that use little gore, but have extremely realistic dementive effects or stalking effects, etc. The scariest stuff, though, is "Faces of Death," which isn't even really a movie, it's just something some sick people put together of real footage of people dying. Do not watch it, it is disgusting.

Ah, those irritating MOE monsters who start jumping around after they've killed you... another thing you usually find only in action games ;)

I don't recall getting creeped out or scared by any game. The scariest I played was Phantasmagoria - I don't play horror games that much :-\ But I do like Stephen King's books. It would be cool to have a game based on one of them  8)

Yes, that's the problem (at least I'm guessing) with PS2-type games like Resident Evil or Silent Hill; they are all about slash and kill and not enough psychological material.

Have you seen the previews for Silent Hill 4? Its going to be quite psychological.
She's back. She's proud. She will overcome!

Well, I haven't played that many for any console...but I've played a couple of Resident Evil games.

Mostly RE3:NEMESIS.  The mood they set in those games is absolutely amazing.  Excellent atmosphere and very involving.  I just like it when it gave you the option to run the heck away from NEMESIS.  I always ran away like the big sissy I am. :D  Didn't have a PS to play to the finish, though...

I don't play action games, but I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple where the player lies dead on the floor while the mosters/enemies that killed him roam the room :-\
It's mostly adventures that give you a witty remark when you die ;)

I once dreamt I was dead in my old house's basement back in Massachusetts and bugs were crawling around and through me. :-\ If that's not creepier than any of these games I don't know what is. :-\

Never actually played it, but Manhunt looks disturbingly scary.

The scariest game I've played though is Eternal Darkness, just because the atmosphere was so damn scary. Some of those cutscenes were just CRAZY.

“The 7th Guest” (http://www.mobygames.com/game/sheet/gameId,283/) was the game that tried the hardest to scare me, until I realized the whole thing was ripped off from 70’s and 80’s horror flicks (my apologies to any T7G fans out there…) that weren’t that good to start with.

A somewhat rare game called “Iron Helix” (http://www.mobygames.com/game/sheet/p,5/gameId,679/)  creeped me out in a Sci-Fi, James Carmon sort of way…   ::)

In Manhunt you play as a criminal who is beign used in this sick guy's huge snuff movies.

I heard there was some game out there, called "Haunted Mansion" or something....but you didn't go in with guns and crap, you went in with a special camera.  You couldn't see the ghosts/apparitions unless you used the camera and you had to take pictures of these old crime scenes or something.

I dunno.  I just heard it blew Resident Evil and Silent Hill out of the water for scariness factor.

I've played The Seventh Guest...talk about weird!  I guess that probably was the scariest I played!

Although the Nancy Drew game: "Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake"--the beginning was a little creepy to play at night for the first time!

Yeah, guns always take away from the scariness factor, unless you are being tracked by a sniper.
