Well, the one thing that I think each episode has been doing so far is to give us the backstory of a particular character. So thus far, no, the show hasn't answered the big questions. It just gives little hints here and there.
I do like the backstories though. Felt kinda badly for Dr. Hopper/Jiminy Cricket.
Backstory is important, no doubt. But every episode has been running in place. Henry ran away from his home to find his biological mother, so that he could save the fairytale characters from the curse. But while the show only "hints" at the possibility of Henry's accusations (for instance, James feeling a connection to Snow), it still provides the doubt that this kid could be making it all up and has a wild and active imagination. I think I am annoyed that the writers of the show are playing both fields. I still like the show, but at least make a decision. Is this kid crazy or not?
I couldn't tell what the mayor was holding in her hand.
A shard of glass from the glass coffin.
I knew it was glass, it was hard to tell what was at the bottom of the mine shaft. At first, I thought it was the magic mirror, but the glass coffin makes sense too. It still doesn't confirm or deny Henry's assertion, it merely "hints" at it.
