From interest and curiosity.

Who here uses 'em? Which ones, why, what do you like/dislike about them? No, you don't have to say your username at them, etc, I'm more interested in the different ones.

I personally have a LiveJournal account, and I really like that place because of the communities available, the commenting system that allows you to see what others have said, the ability to screen posts, etc to be only for "friends."

Anyone else?

I'm not overly fond of them.  There are WAY to many of them out there now.  I don't need to hear details of one's personal life.  I started one, but I made like2 entries, and shut it down, I realized how moronic it was.  I like to keep my life as just that, mine.

Besides, almost EVERY blog I see (mostly unintentionally, I mean to look at a domain, and the blog is all thats there), has the SAME layout, only a different pop-star!  Be original people!

People don't like others reading their diary, yet online, they want EVERYONE to read the same stuff!  What gives?

As a friend of mine always says, "It's an interesting thing."

I think it starts as the kind of ability to say what you like and talk about your life and have people who *don't* know you can take an outside look at it. When I started mine, I wanted a place to write about whatever I wanted and not until recently did I let more people I knew in real life in on the thing. It's also nice to be able to write whenever, from any computer, and not have to dig up an actual diary.

It's nice to be able to vent if I want to, although many people bring up the idea or issue of privacy, and saying stuff about people who might read it and be hurt. For this reason, some people restrict who can see their journals, or don't write about that sort of thing. I figure it's my journal, no one said you had to read it (not that I got bad mouthing left and right or something).

And it's sometimes interesting to go read about a day in the life of a total stranger.

Some humans are curious creatures... I'm not one of them. My own life's interesting enough, I don't need to read about other one's, especially strangers. 8)

Um I don't think I want a livejournal. It'd be embarassing to have other people know about my life. My life is boring, I'm not sure other people would find it interesting.

Then why, I wonder, does an utterly boring program like 'Big Brother' attract so many viewers? (of which I am/was, let me state clearly, not one)

Voyuerism?  Beats me. I only watch the interesting reality shows....aka Survivor and now American Idol are my guilty pleasures (I didn't watch the Idol show until my parents got me sucked in!)

I don't watch reality shows... I find them rather boring.
I don't think they're that popular in my country either, We have too much reality as it is :D

Lol, I rarely watch the TV, but such shows attract people cos they're hyped up, and nobody likes to admit what crap they actually are.  But oh well.

The shows that get to me more are the ones that make brand new pop stars and stuff like that.  I hate them.  HATRED >=O

Reality shows are not my cup of tea either. The local Idol-program's neither. I suppose I'll get to hear the Idol's work when it's released, since it'll most likely be aired on every national radio station, so why bother watching the show?

I don't like reality shows. I did watch Joe Millionaire and American Idol and some of Survivor. For the most part the people on there are too b"""y and deceptive. I like comedies, and sci-fi, and some drama movies. Cime shows are interesting. I hate soap operas, but my mom likes them. I don't watch TV that much as I used too. I used to be really interested in cartoons, now I rarely watch them. The net has replaced the TV.

Same here. I usually only watch some tv on weekends, there isn't much good on anymore. Besides, there's a bit more interaction on the Web.

I watch more TV than I did in college, but not a whole lot. I've gotten brought into some of the primetime dramas, like CSI and 24, and I loved Survivor, I really find it interesting, the whole sociology of it and the interaction is kind of amazing to watch as it plays out. American Idol I only got into because I enjoy singing and I had nothing else to do on Tuesdays. ;-)

The one show I wish I got to see more often? The Simpsons, hands down.
