Long time ago I downloaded Episode 1.  It played just fine on my system.  Recently came back to the site and downloaded the full EP 1 to 4.  I read through the fixed section and saw some similar problems.  When I go to play the game I can see for less than a second where a small dos window opens and then closes.  That is all it will do.

I have tried going into the config and setting it from fullscreen to windowed.  I lowered all my settings.  I have a Nvidia driver (not Microsoft).  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it has done nothing.  MY specs are:

Windows 7 64 bit
AMD quad CPU
4 gig ram
Geforce 460 SE 1 gig ram

I have had no problems playing any of my other games.  I can't understand why Episode 1 played just fine but this don't?

Try running DXDIAG on your computer just from the Windows Run application, then on the Display tab tell me the version number and driver date for the video card you have.

To rule it out I went ahead and upgraded to the newest drivers on Nvidia's website.  As expected it didn't help.  Never have had any luck ever in my life fixing something by updating my drivers.

Try going to the folder where the game is installed in a command prompt and then running it using this command "tsl.exe -log 2" (but without the qutoes).  After the crash there will be a file created in that directory called "console" with a bunch of date and time information.  Just attach that file to a reply here so I can take a look at it.

Ok I did this twice.  The first time this is what it gave me:

After seeing it is missing file game/main.cs I copied (not cut) the file main.cs out of the main directory (e:\kq9) and put it in e:\kq9\game.

This the time game tried to load however it never showed anything and after about 2 minutes gave me the send error report.  I did the log again and now it shows this:

You may want to try to install DirectX straight from Microsoft.

Just a thought, since it looks like you're currently running version 8.

Try uninstalling the game and just completely deleting the entire folder that it was previously installed it - sometimes it leaves some bad traces of files behind.  Then run the big installer for all four episodes again from scratch and see if it works any better?

After deleting the directory and reinstalling it seems to be working fine.  I guess just reinstalling the game wasn't enough.  Appreciate you help.
