Saw this over on the IA forums--there's a new Space Quest fangame out!

I've downloaded it and watched the intro, although that's all so far, but I'm excited to play it further!

Downloaded! I'll have to wait a while to play it, though - I don't think they would approve of my playing it at work. :P

As an aside, pcj, how do you make your avatar cycle like that? That's kind of cool! :)

It's a PHP script that randomly picks the image from the directory.

Take a look back at IA's forums.  A bit more SQ news.  ;D
I didn't know how much I really enjoyed the Sierra Adventure Games until I played them all over again 15 years later.

Now that this is out o can say that I was part of the veta team whoot for some reason playing the final version was not as thrilling maybe because i tested it 100 times? if anyone needs hints or a walk through I am your guy

So, I downloaded this game and tried it out. Im enjoying it so far, though the lack of voice acting (save for a couple lines here and there by select characters) is a little hard to get used to. But the dialogue is actually really good I think. I really like the banter between Beatrice and roger. I think the game has the right sense of humor. I also got a chuckle out of Romanticon VII; it reminded me of Rysa from Star Trek (and I bet that's the joke, come to think of it...) anyway, the game is fun so far. I haven't had too much time to devote to it yet (I was playing it at 3 AM in the morning... Thank you vacation for giving me time to play video games, even if it's at ungodly hours of the morning), but it's certainly fun!

No worries, a voice pack is planned. It will take a long time to put one together, so we decided to do the original release without it.

Not that I know of :D

Been hearing of this project for a long time as our own Chris Ushko was working on it for so long. This is exciting news for all Space Quest fans!!!!

I downloaded the game and took a quick look at it, and immediately fell in love with its Space Quest flavor. I can't wait to have a stretch of time to play it.

Once again, congratulations!!!!! Awesome stuff!

I agree with cez. I think you guys absolutely nailed the space quest feel. and I hope you guys do release a voice pack; id love to *hear* Beatrice and roger go at it. and of course some kind of snarky narrator. once I have more time on my hands, I plan to play this for a while. also, apparently I stumbled upon this project YEARS ago and forgot all about it. I got an e-mail in my hotmail account the other day announcing the release. I stopped using my hotmail account for new websites roughly 5 or 6 years ago. I'm glad to see this project actually come out.

as for Chris ushko, I saw his name in the credits and instantly recognized it from TSL. It brought a smile to my face to see TSL vets working on other amazingly superb projects, fan or otherwise. good work guys. I think all the time spent in the oven was good. the final product is very enjoyable and instantly brought back memories of playing space quest.

I didn't know about this and look forward to trying it out.

So many games, so little time!

pcj

Thanks for the kind words Cezar and Chris, and everyone else.  I wanted to point out we have a release trailer now.

Datadog

Awww, such kind words indeed. I'm really glad people are enjoying this. VSB was a great project to work on and it's very exciting to see people's reactions to it.

I've still got my other project on the way. It shouldn't take much longer to finish, but considering my beta-testers are still finding bugs, so I'm going to take what time I need to polish it for everyone.

KatieHal

Just finished VSB. Really fun game! And very much a Space Quest game, true spirit of the series. Great work guys!!

did anyone else go there was a bug here there and here and there and more here  every time the entered a room they reported or fixed a bug in haha but no seriously great product and I was honored to join the team
hope everyone loves it

Datadog

That's a good point. If anyone finds any bugs in VSB, it's totally Hero's fault.  :suffer:
