The Expendables Freaking II
« on: February 06, 2012, 12:17:53 AM »
Stallone, Statham, Li, Lundgren, Crews, Couture, Hemsworth, Willis, Norris, Schwarzenegger, and Van Damme. Directed by Simon West (Con-Air). Also Scott Adkins is in there. Sly also is hopeful about having Nicholas Cage and John Travolta as well, though he seemed more confident about Cage. He also said things can change at the tip of a hat. The former role call is absolutely confirmed though.

Loved the first movie. So FREAKING psyched for this movie.

Ahhh... ****! I mean get John McTiernan, Kathryn Bigelow, Walter Hill, Richard Donner, Ted Kotcheff, John Glen, Lauri Harjola, John Boorman, Menahem Golan or even go and dig up John Frankenheimer from his grave, but not Simon "Tomb Raider" West.

I saw the first one last week. :P I was completely unimpressed. XD Though the bits where a single shot takes off half of someone's body and blood goes everywhere are hilarious. :D

Nothing was wrong with Tomb Raider but the writing. And it was still better than most video game movies. But Con-Air was fantastic.

Yeah Con-Air was quite good and I definitely agree about the writing for Tomb Raider.

I haven't seen the first Expendables movie yet though this one is definitely lining up a stunning cast which is a big sell for me.

I'm not expecting it to break any box-office records or be the most amazing film of all time. I'm just expecting it to be awesome personally. It's a movie about stuff blowing up and action. And with this cast I will be most pleased, just as I was with the first.

Phui! ConAir had the luck of being at the beginning of the second renessaince of the action film in the mid 90's. Stuff like Bay's The Rock and Scott's Crimson Tide showed the way for the visual hyperaction thriller. Not to mention Zimmer creating a new standard for an action movie score.

By the time you reach the end of this sentence, you will have come to the horrible realization that there is nothing remotely profound written here.  Bummer, isn't it?
