Rock Paper Shotgun is generally positive about it, which means a lot as they were utterly scathing about Jurassic Park.

Is there a demo? I'm not going near it without a demo, considering their past games. I don't care what review they get.

This.  SO MUCH THIS.

It doesn't look like there's a PC demo (their site still is allowing you to pre-order the game at a discount even), not sure about PS3/360.  But I'm definitely not buying it until there is a demo.

Update - it appears there is a demo for the game on PSN, I'm downloading it now and will take a look at it tonight.  Though some of the user reviews on Metacritic are running right down the same path that Back to the Future and Jurassic Park have been on so I'm not holding out a ton of hope.

Well, only Episode 1 was released only, quite short but the graphics are quite good, you can tell its a Kirmans story, and it plays decently. Overall had fun with it.

Takes around 2 hours to beat, so its quite short :)

Meh, I think I'll just wait. I thought Tell Tale was going to release their games on disc for consoles. If they do release them, then I can just rent them. If they are as short as they are, and as straightforward as they are, then there's no point in purchasing them in my honest opinion. Also, if they go on sale on Steam for less than $5, that would also be a good deal. But I'm not going to pretend like Tell Tale is not driving themselves into the ground. Can't wait for what King's Quest is going to be like.  ::)

I doubt they will, I don't think they've ever released any of their games on physical media for consoles.  Doing that cuts into your profit margin pretty significantly.

As far as I'm concerned, any game (or game "chapter") with only 2 hours worth of gameplay (and easy or next to zero challenging puzzles) just is not worth $5 an episode. $2 maybe. $12 a season max. That is all I would pay.

No, I actually think they are considering it. I saw this and this on Amazon. I also saw this and this on Gamefly. This could be a fluke, but I'm pretty sure they are trying to break into the retail market.

Fierce Deity is right. Jurassic Park was advertised on GameStop TV for a few months and I physically held a copy of it for 360 in my hands yesterday. Back to the Future was similarly advertised and we definitely have that one for PS3. Odd that they didn't come out for both, but I have first hand experience that those two games exist. :P

Haha, I sense people don't like telltale in this forum....

Anywho, I'm a fan of Kirman's job and it was worth it :)

Very interesting to know.

I played the demo on PS3, I'm more interested in this one than I was BttF, so that's a good sign.  I'll probably give it a go at some point, though I will say that I hated having to move the cursor with the analog stick, especially during time-sensitive gameplay.  That's kind of a pain.

I liked Tell Tale up until they started making really bad games. I don't feel like my opinion of them is a consistent one, which means I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy or a hater. I just wish they started making games like they used to. They are now moving towards QTE games which are a world apart from where they were.

I have nothing against Kirkman's work. He's dedicated to his series, which makes his work on the video game all the more appropriate.

There's a demo for the PS3 but not the PC?  ???  :( >:(

Yeah no word from them on a PC demo yet, which is definitely odd.  The PS3 one definitely wasn't hard, but it was interesting enough that I'll probably buy the first episode and see what I think.

Another issue with the PC version. You can't buy single episodes.

I just checked out the demo. I have to admit, it wasn't much to go on, but it did show some promise. But once again, I'm going to give it the same judgment I gave Jurassic Park: I'll either rent it or purchase it at a dirt cheap price. There's no challenge to the game, it's all reaction-based QTE scenes. Impressive nonetheless, but not worth the price for admission.

One thing I do want to confirm or deny is the speculated use of "choices" or "decisions". For instance:
