Seen as though rob made the new movie thread, im making the old movie thread.

I love old musicals, such as singing in the rain, seven brides for seven brothers, anchors aweigh.

I  <3 Gene Kelly. not only was he a fantastic dancer but he was also rather cute in his day!

anyway add your own favourite old movies,movie stars!


EDIT- erm hellooooo there hav been numerous view of this post, but no1 has put anything...ahem come on ppl some of u must like old films...think about jason and the argonauts...the way all those mosnters moved *shudder*

anything that you want!

i was focusing on old musicals and films like gone with the wind etc, but absolutely anything u want!

it could be 1980s- Splash, Ghostbusters (oh that theme tune)
it could be 90s, 20s,60s...whatever!

oh and we can also discuss favourtie old tv shows, either *old tv shows* like bewitched...or tv shows from when you were young- seasame st, THUNDERCATS! (i loved that and love the theme tune)

Snatch and Seven were really good movies too, but I'm not sure if they're considered "old movies" or not.  XD

Only black & white movies should qualify as old. Or movies that have really bad colors :P

Hmm, I don't wanth many B&W films, but The Wizard of Oz was a good one with horrible colours!  :D

Some of the old bad coloured movies have been enhanced ;), but the actors i listed are old ;D, most of them are dead :-\ :'(, they were really good actors too :-\

how about all movies before 1990?? I mean i was really young then and i consider movies from then old  ;-D ...hahaha, don't know much b&W movies either, but a movie i did liked was labyrint!!  :lovegoggles: ...don't know if it is as great as i remember, and i don't want to find out  ;-D

I remember Labyrinth! Except I was only a couple of years old when I first saw it, and it seriously freaked me out :P

hahahaha, it freaked me out!! at least when i first saw it ; ) ..i was like whaaaa!! weird ppl/thingies/something ; ) ...needless to say i was young too ; )

I liked Mississippi Burning with Gene Hackman, it was very sad but in a way it touched me and i have loved the movie ever since :), OMG that reminds me i know what i was gonna spend that money on now :o

Maybe we should go with "old movies are movies that were made before you were born". The B&W definition isn't that good, when you consider movies like Schindler's list or In the bleak midwinter (two other favourites of mine).

It's not that gross. At least it's doesn't have mutilation scenes that show blood and gore in full color for the shock value, like some other movies ::)
