Wow.  I still have problems with English, though I can curse in 4 languages.  :P

Any interest in learning isolate languages?
I have my cake and eat it too, until it's gone.  Then I can't do either.

- 45 pages, 10,239 words in total for chapter 6 of KQ5. That's like a novel length chapter! Yeesh...

someone say POST! or something onto the topic please.

Y'know, now that I think about it, it's kinda... cruel what I did to Cedric in the inn... I think I'll change it back to my original plan: SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!

Yay! Chapter 6 of KQ5 is finally up!

...okay, it's been up for the past hour on here, but still.

*ahem!* Sir Cray, would you evaluate this chapter for me, please? mayhaps Sir Delling as well? (and why do I call you that? Well, you ARE the Knight of The Swan in Our Majesty's Court, yes?)

I'll evaluate the chapter if all the dialogue is in English. :P

Sir Cray... there are like three German words in this chapter. Guten-Tag (Good Day/Hello), Herr. (Mr.), and zauberer (wizard/magician, sure YOU as a QFG fan would know at least that one! Remember Zauberg Mountain?)

I didn't say "all the words" did I? :P So then the answer to your question would be............? :P

Why did you not mention this before in my QFG fanfic? I used German in my dialogue there (specific example being Finn), and you didn't comment on that, so why now?

Don't blame me for putting German in, blame the writers of the actual game for writing him that way.

Couple of reasons -- firstly, it was early enough in that it was sort of helping to establish the setting, the character, etc; secondly, QfG1 is supposed to be Germanic (whereas KQ5 isn't really specifically tied to a real world culture), three the dialogue wasn't (as far as I could tell?) anything important to the plot enough that someone who doesn't know any German words would have missed anything.

But, this late in KQ5, you've already had a lot of dialogue, we've seen everyone else in Serenia speak Common -- even the gypsies. So, a merchant they buy things from doesn't? :-\ Is everyone in the whole country bilingual, or just everyone who has to buy toys?
"Darling, I'm pregnant!"
"We'll have to learn German before the baby is born! I'll run out and get Rosetta Stone now, so we'll have nine months to master it! Then we can buy toys!"
"Oh, Herbert, that's marvelous!"
See what I mean? :P

I know he uses some German words in the game and he's obviously supposed to be Germanic, but the sample of dialogue you showed earlier was way more than just a few words, that was my concern.

 ::) *sigh* fine...

~FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER~

Very well, it is done. Happy?

Oh, btw, the chapter after chapter 6 was actually inspired by listening to this over and over: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evRW0iS2QaI

Out of context, 1:51 to 2:57 sounded like a "Sneaky Theme" to me! Listen to the brass and strings, and imagine someone sneaking on tiptoe to this!

I was so disappointed when I heard this in-game again, as I forgot that it only played in the basement after the rat frees you.

-I called my jeweler. He's just now calling back and my mother picked up the phone and is trying to seduce him because she wants a self-esteem boost. ::) I hate my life. Also Mummy Dearest: Great, it's super that you've finally come to the conclusion that my father is an emotionally abusive sociopath and have decided to cut him out of your life. Now why is it a terrible, horrible thing for me to want to do the same to all the horrible people I'm related to who've treated me much worse than he's ever treated you? XD
-Missing my boyfriend. :(
-Missing my diamonds too. XD I need something to sparkle at me. :(
-BEING SO COLD. :(

- Wondering where Precious is? (that is what you named one of your diamonds, isn't it?)

In fact, I've been wondering about this for a while now, Deloria. I'm assuming you're close to my age, so why haven't you moved out yet and be free?

Because Switzerland has a different school system from the US (we start two years later and it goes on for an extra year) and I'm just now graduating. :P Bear in mind though that it's not even remotely like an American high school and focuses mostly on providing people with a classical education; I speak five languages, have taken two years of neuroscience, biochem, three other sciences (six years each), fascism (1 year), political history, population geography (six years each) and fairly complex mathematics in addition to receiving culinary lessons. :P There is also a focus on writing research papers (I've had to do roughly one per year, the largest of which was 17'000 words and has just been accepted into a national competition). It's also incredibly elitist, with only 30% getting into and going to high school and by extension university, so the classes tend to be very, very advanced. Graduating from this system is considered so impressive that many of my classmates are getting positions as substitute teachers for secondary schools in the area without even needing a university degree or even needing to show anyone their grades while they're waiting for their next classes to start in September.

Precious is the name of the cluster-diamond brooch-pendant, not a particular diamond within the piece. :) She is being fixed because three of the 100-something rose cuts fell out when she was being cleaned by a charming young gentleman in an antique jewellery shop who was so enamoured of the piece that he offered to clean her. :P This was initially quite worrying because rose cuts are no longer produced and you can't just insert modern-cut gems into an almost 200 year old piece; modern and antique gems are not at all compatible because the quality of the light refraction is too different. Fortunately, I managed to find a jeweler who had some rose cuts set aside and could do it. :)

Okay, so when would you be able to move out? Sorry, it's just... I worry about you. I bet you're gonna be literally bouncing off the walls once school is out for you!

Well, assuming I graduate next week, which I won't know until Saturday, I will live here until my medical stuff can get sorted out. I'm going to have another surgery, though I don't quite know when that will be and I need to be here for that. It's a somewhat risky and possibly traumatic surgery and I have a doctor whom I trust and want to perform that. After that and the competition ends, I should be able to move to Vienna rather directly.

- Urgh... just when I think I have everything all planned out for chapter 7, I come to a halt once I realize: okay, Graham gets out with a convenient hammer from the basement (breaking both the padlock and the head of the hammer), but... how is Cedric supposed to get out of his predicament?

Graham was stuck in the basement, but Cedric is stuck in a locked guest room upstairs. Like they did with Graham, he's tied up (The Rat is going to fix that), and all his stuff is taken, bag and all. I would think about using a candle to melt the lock, but why would it be lit in the daytime? (because by the time they come to, it's dawn) And even if it WAS lit, I don't think a tiny flame like that would help much.

Cedric has a magic, yeah? Can't he cast a spell to open the lock? That would be my first guess. Maybe I've played too much QfG. :P

-curling up in bed being miserable from the side effects of this new medication they gave me
-side effects include nausea and an inescapable rust taste in my mouth.
