I should have asked Deloria, who seems to know everything?

The question you asked simply doesn't have a right or wrong answer. I mean, we live in a world where Billy can be short for William. It's like asking if people can enjoy ice cream; it's entirely subjective whether or not it's true for any given person, but I believe most people would agree it's possible. When it comes to names, just about anything "can" work.

And also, there are plenty of highly intelligent people on the forums, Snabbott included, so unless you're looking for something very specific, you're probably fine regardless of whom you get an answer from. It's worth noting though that asking a question doesn't really qualify as "what you're doing," so you might be more on-topic in the general chat thread. :)

That said, :P

-Sitting at work
-Mixing up a Rubik's cube
-Trying to make it so no two squares of the same color are adjacent
-Failing. :-\

EDIT: Aha! Success! :D
-Solving a Rubik's cube

EDIT 2:
-Solved a Rubik's cube in ~8 minutes. Not actually impressive but it's better than the 3 weeks it took last time. XD

Yay! I can never solve those things. Also, I didn't mean to offend anyone!

snabbott

I don't think anyone was offended. And yes, sometimes it does seem like Deloria (and Delling, and...) knows everything - not in a know-it-all sense, but rather that she's really smart and well-informed. :)

I've never been able to solve a Rubik's cube. :-\

I can solve one side of a Rubik's cube, that's about it.

- Playing Quest for Glory 3. Grinding Magic Spells to max.

- Listening to an AT4W episode to pass the time.

Cathenah19

I'm playing Quest for Glory 3, too. This is the first time I've played through the series, and I don't know why I never got it before. I have loved the first three games so far.

Playing as a Paladin, I'm working at grinding my throwing and strength to 300 in this game, but I think I've encountered a game-stopping bug just after the initiation ceremony, so I guess it will be a while before I play again. I would like to finish QFG3, though. I like it because it seems to go at a much more leisurely pace than QFG2.

Other than that, I am wasting time that I could be writing but cannot find the drive to do so. Maybe I will be more productive tomorrow.

-I saw a pretty picture from Episode 5 last night  :suffer: Y'all will love it. It's looking good.

GrahamRocks!

Is it a tapestry or an actual in-game shot?

writerlove

It was an actual in game shot. And that's all I can say in risk of losing my position :P

- Feeling especially irritated because of two things:
1. My Internet is "not connected" and is down. Now, normally I'd just reset the router and wait a couple minutes for it to kick back in. That didn't work this time, so I'm stuck with no Internet for the time being. I'm not gonna die if it doesn't kick on today, but it's still rather annoying.

2. I've gotten stuck on QFG3. Literally. And the worst part? It's my own fault! For the past 3 or so real time days, and over 60 in-game days, I've been Maxing all my Magic spells (I'm doing my pure Magic User/Wizard file first, then Fighter/Paladin, and then Thief, and I might mix it up a little with the last Hero being a Hybrid with all skills), and just today FINALLY maxed out Zap! Hooray! The problem came when I beat the Leopardman I'd picked a fight with, and killed him and took his money, I left the jungle screen. It never transitioned back to the map! The Wait Scarab just stays there on the jungle screen! And I had the stupid idea to SAVE during this!!!

Seeing as whenever I load that particular file, I get back to the jungle freeze screen, I've realized that I'm most likely stuck.

And you know what THAT means, right?! It means I need to load an earlier save file, where I HAVEN'T done all this grinding yet! Which means that those 60+ in-game days I spent grinding my Magic and skills? Gone! Wasted! Poof! I'm gonna have to start the process over again, all because of my own stupidity.

Can Finn be a shortened version of Finneus?
Generally, it's a name on its own (it's both a Frisian and an Irish name) or a shortened version of Finnegan, but I see no reason why it couldn't also be a shortened version of Phinnaeus.

Uhh... Why?

A company in Italy sent me some bad data, and I had to rewrite my parsing code around it since we're not legally allowed to change it ourselves.

Seriously?! No reaction at all, guys? No reaction to me confessing to be- in my case -a Pegasister? Of liking a show that was made for kids half my age?

LadyTerra

Well, if you want a reaction...

Meh.  If it's a good show, there's nothing wrong with liking it.  Now, if you made sexualized MLP fan art, I would judge you.  With a gavel.

*snickers, laughs* That would be silly, LadyTerra! I can't even draw horses all that well.

I think somehow grown women confessing to that has lost its shock value when Bronies has become a widely-known headscratcher in our current culture!
