Castle of Daventry

Hey, I thought we are going to explore the castle of daventry in kq9, right?

what are we going to see there,? why do we need to explore it? and with who are we going to explore it?

any thoughts on this, or other questions about the KQ most famous castle?? ; )

Because some enemy has invaded the castle and taken it over, and we need to reclaim it.

Alternate answer:  Because King Graham has gone senile and can't remember where anything is anymore.

I can't wait to look round the castle and also to see what the crocodiles look like! They used to scare me back in the day of 16 colour graphics...

yeah, my thought was too that someone might invade the castle (ie, a likewise situation in kq6 or so)

hmmm... i wonder if there is something like bathrooms or so, cuz many castles seem to miss those (ugh, smelly ppl   ; )

Actually, I joined about a year ago, and I've made a lot more than a dozen posts, but a lot of my posts got deleted when the board was down for a while last summer.

There is no indoor plumbing in Daventry; this has been established in K-Q-8:MoE.  In a scene that most of us would just as soon forgot, Connor opens the door to the outhouse and finds one of the monsters sitting on the wooden "throne."  He promptly dispatches the monster, picking up the coins and potions left behind.  Yuck!

Note:  Someone has put a "profainty" filter on this board that automatically converts K-Q-8 to MoE.  Talk about censorship!

And that MOE outhouse scene doesn't mean there's no indoor plumbing in Daventry. Obviously, the people in that village are poor peasants and can't afford it, but the castle might have a proper bathroom - it wouldn't be so hard to divert some of the water from the moat to flow under the castle and wash out the sewage

so how about the bad guy? did conor took over the castle, did valanice became an evil mom/wife etc. or did Alex figured it was time that the old man takes a step down.


....or perhaps something else that leads to the situation that the castle is occupied by a bad guy ; )

hmmm.... anyone might have an idea what Alex and Rosella is up to??

They came home for the holidays.  I hear they get 4-6 weeks vacation in both The Green Isles and Etheria!

Hmm, I disagree with the enemy invading idea, since kq9 involves a prophecy about hte royal family then it's probably logical that some element of this phrophecy is contained in their home. Alex is probably looking for a piece to the puzzle or perhaps he'ss just looking around and discoveres the actual first sign of the phrophecy. Whatever Rosella does is probably a result of what Alex uncovers.

Hey now! Is Rosella so incapable of finding stuff on her own? Maybe SHE'S the one you play in Castle Daventry, and has to go rescue the boys from certain doom! Heck, maybe the whooooolleee prophecy is about our dear Princess of Daventry and everyone else is just there for fun.  

Or, maybe not.   But I'm just trying to encourage that Rosella can do important things too!
