Hello, My site is currently ran through Wordpress, and I've honestly wanted to transfer over to Drupal for quite some time. My only hangups is two things.

1. One of the sections of my site is a videos section where I have alot of music videos I've made (and are stored on 4shared because my host doesn't allow audio or video uploads). I can paste the embed code into a page, but it won't play the video right from the site. It opens it up in 4shared but makes the viewer sign in (this is the major hangup with the video issue, because of the chance that a visitor doesn't have a 4shared account)
- Is there a plugin I can use to get it to play from the site? At the very end I will include a link to one of my videos, played in my WP site just for the point of an example so you can see what I'd like to do

2. My other issue is Migration. This isn't an issue, but more of a question. Is there a way to migrate/transfer my site from WP to Drupal without losing my blog posts & comments? I have no problem readding the pages (although there's well over 100 so that would take a long time, but if it's needed, I can do it. But is there a way where I won't lose my entries and comments?)

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer

This is an example of one of my vids, so that you can see how it's setup and plays within the blog. For the Video issue, this is what I'd like to duplicate in Drupal

Well im not sure about your question but i have to ask why go from  wp to drupel it has one heck of a learning curve but if you really want to know i found this
http://drupal.org/node/43178
in my view because i switched from drupel to  WordPress a long time ago wordpress is far better for the average user unless your a power user and a tech wz stick with word press

someone correct me if im wrong but even this site has a word press back-end i know Jane Jensen herself uses wordpress
and if you want a great designer see
http://lost-sheep.us/design/
she does all my design work since i first made my website in 2009

I had gone to drupal, but ended up sticking with WP.  I wound up getting Drupal to do what I wanted, but one of my sections is a collection of videos I've made and the menu list for them, I couldn't get it to do what I wanted, so I kept WP.

Right now I'm trying to jazz up my WP, but so far what I'd like to do looks impossible

The designer I recommend above  and in pm has made all my designs for me since 2009 and does fantstic work

jen

You did mention that, but I do my own designs.

The Hero

Ok so in that cause how did you want to enhance the design maybe i can help you find a plugin or code example? :)

I'm going to have alot of different themes and I wanted to make each give the site a different feel.  I thought of trying to put different widgets in the sidebar, or possibly the same just in a different order, but so far that's looking impossible

I found this blog post http://www.web-site-los-angeles.com/theme-chooser-for-wordpress.php
as flr the themes you wouldst have to make them to different just change  the side bar and nav bar locations a bit and whatever other changes nothing fantastic
its not  impossible if you show me some designs i cam give you some idea's

jen

http://www.before-sunset.org is my link.  Right now I just have two themes up

The Hero

if you reshaped the menu bar and moved it down below the header that would be nice
have a look at my site for inspiration

the design isn't my problem.  I plan to switch some up with the nav bar and sidebars a bit different.  The only thing I really have a problem with is, I'd like to rearrange the widgets in the sidebars in some themes.  For instance, if you look at the Alyson Hannigan theme, see how the sidebar is Search, Themes, External Links, Networks, Login, Archives.  In another theme I have to code yet, I'd like to have 2 righthanded sidebars, the rightmost one I'd like to put: Login, Archives, and the one in the middle (closest to the content) I'd like to have  Themes, Search, Networks, External Links

Is there a way I can do this?

The Hero

widjets are pretty much were they are unless you code your own from scratch

jen

Is it possible in WP to put the search in the horizontal nav bar?

I found a way of doing what I want, but I have a question. Say like I have a certain widget in a secondary sidebar, is there a way to find activated widgets without adding all to the primary and having the ones in the secondary show up twice?

The Hero

Sorry it toke so long  any widget in the sidebar is considerd active unless  it has extra options required to set up check your widget options

I'm online as this is happening and it is infuriating that I can do nothing about it. XD

I got Drupal to do what I want, though it's being and pain and I honestly don't like the interface.  I tried to go back to WP (even though it would never look how I want), now WP is being a pain.  No matter if it's made in Artisteer or downloaded from wordpress.org, whenever I install a theme (it can have one sidebar or two, doesn't matter) when I view the site, the sidebar(s) disappear.  Also in the widgets area, I set the main sidebar like:
                                          Search
                                          THemes
                                           Login
                                           Archives

And in some (the ones installed defaultly even) some of the widgets disappear when you go to view
